The aura around Alrain became incredibly dark. A powerful murderous intent began to emanate from the green-haired teenager's body. However, before Alrain's emotions could spiral out of control, Arvin immediately took charge of the situation.
"We shall see how he fares in this current era!" Arvin replied in a calm and authoritative tone, attempting to soothe his spouse who was currently consumed by thoughts of revenge. "Forget about that time and focus on our lives right now. I am certain that the future has already changed!"
Hearing his husband's incredibly convincing voice, Alrain's breathing gradually returned to normal. The dark aura emanating from his body slowly receded, though his eyes still held a high level of vigilance. He knew Arvin was right. Acting rashly would only ruin their own plans.
"I agree with your words, My Love." Alrain replied, his voice more controlled now. However, his expression shifted again as he looked at his sister, who was still sitting pale across the table. "But what about my sister's fate? I am afraid she might become a target for that murder again. Karel must still be out there somewhere."
Arvin looked at Alrain, who seemed so desperate thinking about the safety of his only remaining family member. Instead of feeling burdened, Arvin offered a gentle smile to Alrain, who was so deeply worried about his older sister's well-being.
"Why don't you just train your sister like I taught you before, Alrain?" Arvin suggested in a calm tone that provided a definitive solution. "Make your sister stronger than she's now!"
Upon hearing his husband's suggestion, Alrain's eyes widened slightly. He agreed with the idea and, without wasting a second, turned to look at his sister's face.
"What do you think, sister? Do you want me to train you?" Alrain asked, looking at Yonna with hope that she would agree to be trained by him.
Yonna returned her brother's gaze. The fear that had momentarily seized her slowly vanished, replaced by a strong sense of determination. She was an independent worker in the merchant guild. She did not want to die a senseless death like in the previous life and become a burden on her brother's mind.
"I would like that!" Yonna answered loudly without thinking twice. "If it means I can protect myself, I won't mind at all being trained by you."
Hearing his sister's courageous answer and her firm resolve, Alrain finally let out a long sigh of relief. The heavy weight that had been pressing down on his chest disappeared.
Then, the green-haired teenager looked back at his husband sitting at the end of the table. His admiration and gratitude toward Arvin grew even greater. He broke into a very wide smile, showing his neat rows of teeth.
Seeing that expression of pure relief from his second spouse, Arvin smiled back at him, a smile that guaranteed that under his protection, their family would be ready to face any threat from the past.
And a few moment later, the joint dinner finally came to an end. The plates that were previously filled with Yonna's delicious dishes were now clean. The atmosphere, once adorned with light chatter and soft laughter, gradually subsided, leaving only the faint sound of glasses being set back onto the table.
Arvin took a napkin, wiping the corners of his lips with a calm motion, then placed it neatly beside his plate. He then leaned back against the chair. His sharp, deep blue eyes moved slowly, looking toward Alrain sitting on the left side of the table, then shifting to Ordion on his right.
That gaze was no longer relaxed as it had been while they were eating. A very thick sense of seriousness emanated from those eyes, instantly changing the atmosphere in the dining room.
Realizing the shift in gaze which signaled that their husband wanted to speak about something very important, Alrain and Ordion immediately halted all their movements. Both sat up straight, focusing all their attention on Arvin. Even Yonna and Allen fell silent, waiting for what would come out of the mouth of the head of the family.
However, instead of speaking immediately, Arvin moved his right hand over the table. The space above his palm seemed to distort slightly for a moment, opening an access to his dimensional storage.
In the blink of an eye, Arvin took out six bottles of elixirs from his dimensional storage and placed them on the dining table. The soft sound of the glass bottle bases touching the table surface was heard clearly in the silence of the room.
The eyes of Alrain, Ordion, and Yonna widened instantly. They were all shocked to see the form of the liquids inside those bottles.
Four medium-sized bottles contained a dark purple liquid. However, it was no ordinary liquid. The purple fluid swirled slowly inside the glass, adorned with bright gold specks of light that shone brilliantly, making it look exactly like a beautiful mini-galaxy trapped inside a glass bottle.
Meanwhile, the other two bottles were smaller, containing a pure gold liquid. This golden fluid was not still. Instead, it continued to swirl and move on its own as if the liquid possessed a soul and was alive within its glass cage.
"My Love..." Alrain called out. His voice was very soft due to shock, yet his eyes could not leave the charm of the six bottles on the table. "What kind of potions did you just take out from your dimensional storage?"
Arvin stared at the bottles for a moment before looking back at Alrain, Ordion, and Yonna in turn.
"The four bottles with the dark purple liquid are the Elixir of Archmage, which will significantly increase your power." Arvin answered in a very casual tone, as if he were simply telling them that the sky outside was blue. "While the bottles with the golden liquid are the Elixir of Immortality, which will make you youthful and live forever."
In that instant, the breaths of Alrain, Ordion, and Yonna seemed to catch in their throats. They were in total shock. None of them had ever expected Arvin to possess such terrifying items, let alone keep them hidden as if they were just ordinary potion bottles.
"M-M-My Dear..." Ordion's voice trembled violently because of the shock hitting his mind. He looked at Arvin with a gaze of disbelief. "A-A-Aren't the effects of those elixirs absolutely insane? Immortality and absolute power increase... those are things that only exist in ancient mythological tales!"
"Yes, that is exactly what the effects are!" Arvin answered calmly, confirming Ordion's panic without feeling the need to hide anything.
Arvin then reached out and held the shoulder of Allen, who sat quietly beside him. "And Allen has already drunk both elixirs since we first became a married couple."
