A gunshot rings through the air...louder now.
I flinch hard
"Keep moving," Aaron snaps, not slowing down until we reach the end of the alley and burst out into the open street.
Everything happens so fast after that, the car is already there, engine running with a driver inside waitin.
Aaron yanks the back door open and practically shoves me in.
"Get down!" he barks.
I don't think, I jist drop doing exactly as I'm told. My body curls instinctively as I slide across the seat, my hands bracing against the leather.
Aaron jumps in right after me, slamming the door shut.
"Go!" he orders.
The car lurches forward immediately, tires screech against the road as we take off.
And then….. there's more rapid gunshots, not from inside the shop this time.
Outside.
I jer my head up slightly before instinct kicks in again and I duck as the sound of bullets hitting metal rings out around us. One slams into the side of the car with a heavy thud.
