Sharon Sterling's face was full of resentment. "Instead of all this, we should have just gotten rid of Aurora for good! You promised me she wouldn't be coming back to the Sterling family, and I was all set to be the only daughter. But she came back anyway!"
In truth, Sharon didn't know the full details of Joy Dalton's plot to kill Aurora. Joy had only told her that Aurora wouldn't be coming back to the Sterling family alive, and that Sharon should just focus on behaving well until she was formally acknowledged by Timothy Sterling. Joy simply hadn't anticipated that they would kill the wrong person, allowing Aurora to return safe and sound.
Sharon continued, "Mom, didn't you say you have a really powerful friend who can handle anything for you? Hurry up and have that person take care of that bitch Aurora! I don't want to go to school with her. Just seeing her now pisses me off!"
