In Aurora Sterling's experience, Dylan Valerius had always been an impossibly arrogant, scowling grump. She wasn't quite used to him suddenly becoming so sentimental.
Dylan Valerius's hands gripped the terrace railing tightly. "Actually, I'm the one who should be sorry. I know what my mom and Liam did to you and Damien in Portcove. So, whatever happens to them now, they brought it on themselves." He then looked up at the sky. "Studying abroad might be a good thing, really. I can get away from this place, just be myself. It's just… a shame I won't be your classmate anymore…"
"What are you talking about?" Damien Valerius's voice suddenly came from behind them.
Aurora Sterling turned around to see Damien Valerius standing there with an unreadable smile, his true emotions impossible to gauge.
"Damien." For once, Dylan Valerius greeted him properly, showing no signs of discomfort at Damien's arrival.
