"You make it sound like you're some kind of bandit."
"Don't change the subject. Hurry up and tell me what it was like kissing Dr. Shaw."
Laura Lowell leaned her head against the sofa and said perfunctorily, "It was… You'll just have to find out for yourself someday."
"Is it going to kill you to tell me?"
Laura Lowell really couldn't bring herself to talk about such things, let alone share the details. It was just too embarrassing.
"Enough about me. How are things with you and Nathan Redgrave?"
Hannah Hale rested her head on Laura Lowell's shoulder, her lowered lashes hiding the complicated emotions in her eyes.
"He wants me to move in with him today, and we're going back to the Redgrave estate for dinner tonight… Also, we signed an agreement."
"What kind of agreement?"
Laura Lowell had never heard Hannah Hale mention any of this. No wedding and no ring was one thing, but now there was some kind of agreement?
