"Once Theo is discharged, I'll leave on my own. I'm deeply sorry for the trouble I've caused you and Theo."
She was reminding Dylan Zane that his son had suffered a concussion from the fall, one that could very well have lasting effects.
The little boy in the hospital bed immediately burst into tears when he heard Yvonne Sloan say she was leaving. "WAAAH!"
"I don't want Mommy to go! I don't! That bad woman pushed me."
The door to the hospital room was suddenly pushed open from the outside, and the little boy's crying slowly subsided.
Aiden Shaw walked in, dressed in a white lab coat. He had just gotten out of surgery and came over immediately after seeing a text from Laura Lowell.
"Honey, are you okay?"
The tall and poised Aiden Shaw stopped beside Laura Lowell. He took her small hand in his warm palm and gently pulled her closer to him.
"I'm fine. The little boy is the one who fell. It's a mild concussion."
