Laura Lowell finished her milk and lay down. Aiden Shaw lay on his side next to her, pulling her into his arms. He gently caressed her back as if soothing a small child.
"Don't think about anything. Just get some sleep."
Laura Lowell nuzzled her face into Aiden Shaw's chest and slowly closed her eyes.
Resting in his embrace, her heart inexplicably settled.
Once he saw that she was sound asleep, Aiden Shaw carefully got out of bed. He tucked Laura Lowell in before heading to the balcony.
He closed the balcony door, pulled his phone from his pants pocket, and dialed Keith Chambers's number. The phone rang for a few seconds before it was answered.
"I need you to investigate the backgrounds of those people from the club today. Also, have someone monitor their every move around the clock. And arrange for more people to protect my wife."
"I know. I've already assigned people to follow them."
