Being called "the boss" by a man nearly as wealthy as he was, Archie Lockwood was not happy about it.
But to spite him, he acted as if he enjoyed it, nodding. "As long as you know."
Leo Joyce cursed Archie Lockwood in his head before getting up to go upstairs.
Just then, the doorbell rang, so he had to turn back and get the door.
The visitor was Archie Lockwood's bodyguard and assistant, Howard Rhodes. He had been sent to buy clothes for Leo Joyce, and his hands were full of shopping bags.
Leo Joyce took the bags from him. His eyes narrowed with a smile that held no courtesy. "Thanks. Your boss is paying for all of this."
Hearing this, Howard Rhodes panicked internally. He snuck a glance at his stone-faced, silent boss. 'It would be better to pay for it myself and have Leo owe me a favor than to make the boss reimburse the cost.'
