After her rebirth, the female lead stays away from him, and the male lead is completely tormented. In the later parts of the story, the male lead will have all the reactions you'd expect to see, such as suicide attempts... But the ending is a happy one.
This book isn't exactly a doting romance or a gratifying romp, but it's certainly not a tragic tearjerker. An unknown amount of time passed before Leona Grant finally snapped out of his trance, his gaze still fixed on Annabelle Linton's retreating back.


Xylas Shepherd said nothing, just watched Leona Grant and murmured, "Leona, your wife seems to have changed."


Leona Grant didn't answer. He stared out the window with a detached expression, his gaze deep and inscrutable as he watched the figure fade into the night.


'Or maybe... I'm only just getting to know her now.'


Xylas Shepherd followed Leona Grant's line of sight and said teasingly, "Why do I get the feeling your attitude toward your wife is different now?"


Leona Grant looked at him and explained, almost defensively, "She was injured because of me. I just don't want her to use this to stir up trouble again."


He subconsciously avoided mentioning their impending divorce.
