Corvin's eyes sharpened slightly.
"The lights started flickering," she continued. "The desks moved and files fell everywhere like something was pushing them."
"And then?"
Gia swallowed before continuing the narration. "I said something to her again."
Corvin waited for her to continue.
"She told me to shut up."
"And?"
Gia's hands clenched slightly before she said, "I didn't." Her voice lowered. "She screamed it the second time."
The hall grew quieter as she continued, "The next thing I remember, I was lifted off the ground and thrown across the room."
Corvin's gaze flickered toward her shoulder as he raised a brow. "Without touching you?"
Gia nodded. "Yes."
"And the Blackthorn Alpha?" Corvin asked.
"He came immediately after," Gia said. "With his Beta and the elder."
Corvin leaned back against the table slightly.
"What did he do?"
"He didn't even look at me," Gia said bitterly. "He went straight to her."
That caught Corvin's attention.
