Before hitting the hay, they decided to take a stroll at the night city of Glauos. Streets light shine vibrantly as they walked through the market. It was different from the day. More couples can be seen around the market than the day. Raye was looking at a few swords at a sword stand as Purrine and Al is looking at magic crystals. Will walk around and came across a stand that sells amulets and talisman.
"Ah, sir, you sure do have good eyes, this amulets and talisman are made by the Gem Mage, one of the Esperia from the Kingdom of Hiden and these are all imported from the Kingdom of Hiden too!"
"...,"
"Is that so?"
A familiar voice suddenly sounded behind Will.
"Yo, we meet again,"
"Oh it's you,..."
"Don't tell me you forgot me, Its me Aether Lupen, the Perfect Mage, we just met this morning,"
"My apology,"
"It's alright, don't be so formal with me, relax, and also, you said that everything you sell here is made by the Gem Mage among the Esperia?"
"Y-yes sir, would you like to take a look?"
"Don't mind if I do,...., this look cheap and truly not the work of a real artisan work,"
"What are you talking about? This is all made by hand of the Gem Mage, Are you accusing of his work?"
"Dear no, I would never accuse the Gem Mage's work, but its just that the amulets and talisman you are selling don't look like the work of his, everything you sell here..are like cut cornered items, and his initial, his signature initial look off centered, I say this is fake,"
"How dare you accuse the Gem Mage's work! Calling them fake, it is not easy to get this imported from Hiden to here, this all are real, hand made by the Gem Mage, if you have any issue then please leave,"
The merchant is now in panic mode, he tries to draw attention from the crowd to make him the victim.
"I said, I would never accuse the Gem Mage's work, I'm saying then you, are, a, liar, why would I ever accuse my colleague's work,"
"You are now calling him your colleague? Aren't you the liar here? That audacity-"
"That audacity to say this is the work of the Gem Mage, this is fake, not real, a pirated version of the work of the Gem Mage,"
"Damn it..."
"What's wrong, cat got your tongue?"
Everyone around started whispering among themselves. Some are doubting the merchant, and some are doubting the Perfect Mage.
"If you still think I am lying, lets put it to the test,"
The Perfect Mage grab one of the amulets that said balanced mana.
"This amulet will balanced out extra mana you emit on a daily basis, simple word is to prevent mana poisoning, the real Gem Mage's work won't break that easily and it is powerful enough to last for years,"
"You can tell if I'm not lying by my mana flow, in fact, my friend Will, will be the judge of that,"
"Me?...fine,"
The Perfect Mage then channels a little mana flow more out of his usual fluctuation, which is detectable by the crowd and Will. Within few seconds, the amulet exploded into pieces and fall onto the ground.
"And there's your answer, this, is not the work of the Gem Mage, for he is a true artisan and little mistake is not allowed for him,"
"He is not lying, no extra mana flow is added purposely into that amulet,"
Now that the Perfect Mage has won everyone over to his side, the merchant have no choice but to run.
The crowd began to whisper again about the merchant and Aether being the Perfect Mage, one of the Esperia from the Kingdom of Hiden.
"What's all the commotion about? Oh Lord Aether, you are here too,"
"Figure out that I have some fun before getting into business and I came across Will getting scam,"
"I wasn't getting scammed, just looking,"
"My bad, don't mind if I hop on you guys,"
"No problem at all Lord Aether,"
"Just call me Aether, no need that 'lord' "
"Wait, are you Aether Lupen, the Perfect Mage?"
"Oh a beastfolk, yep that's me, sorry I don't do autograph,"
"It's such a pleasure to meet you,"
Purrine grab Aether hand and shake it vigorously.
"Slow down there, I know you are excited meeting me,"
They walked down the night streets to visit Purrine recommended her 'hidden gem'. As they walk, they have a little chat that didn't ended well.
"So...,how's the Pale Jade Dragon?"
"Loki? Oh, he is inside my pocket as a lizard,"
"Huh, what happened to that 'human bow down to me' act?"
"Shut up asshole, I will kill you,"
Loki then crawled out of Raye's pocket and onto Raye's shoulder.
"Look how small you are, a single flick of my finger could send you miles,"
"You damn asshole,"
Loki turned into a human and put himself into a fighting position.
Purrine:"Is that a dragon, that jade colored hair and that blue horn sticking out, Raye, did you get yourself a dragon as a familiar?"
"Oh yea, this is Loki, the Pale Jade Dragon,"
Raye whispered to not draw too much attention from the crowd. Purrine was terrified at first. But she then look at the Perfect Mage and sigh.
"You truly are terrifying Raye, able to tame the Pale Jade Dragon and make him your familiar,"
"Oh it wasn't anything..."
"Hia!"
Loki tried to punch Aether but Aether dodged it swiftly and hit Loki's stomach with his knee. Loki tried to cast magic but got nullified by the Perfect Mage. After a while, they reached to the 'hidden gem' recommended by Purrine. It is a small bookshop that write 'Lewis's bookshop'.
They entered the small bookshop and Purrine greeted the store owner, Lewis.
"Yo Lewis,"
"Purrine, you are here again, looking for grimoires I guess?"
"Nope, I'm just bringing my friends to visit you, aren't I such a good customer?"
"Yes until my peace is ruined,"
"Don't mind his attitude,Lewis is a gloomy guy, he reads book all day and doesn't care about having customer or no,"
Purrine whispered to Will and the others but Lewis already have heard them, although he doesn't really care people criticizing him.
"Don't look at him that way, he was once a famous writer in the Kingdom of Sahhara, he wrote 'THE JOURNEY OF SOREIN' , a famous novel all across the Kingdom of Sahhara and the Kingdom of Arron," Purrine tries to patched up the awkwardness by telling the tale of this man.
"Now that you mentioned it, it does ring a bell, I read it during my childhood," Al had a sudden realisation when Purrine said that.
"Flatter me all you want, I'm already retired and won't be writing any more,"
Will and Raye looked around the small bookshop. Aether found a book about himself and the feats he contributed to Hiden and the world, which Purrine rushed over to read it and Aether chuckle. He may seem like a prideful person in front of Loki, but inside he's a kind guy and have humility, he would even protect his friend's reputation like he did for the Gem Mage.
Raye found a books about famous heroes and Loki tries to read a book of dragon however he does not know how to read book. Will found a book about the demon king but was more fascinated to another book that titled 'CHRONICLES OF ARZHUR', Will looked through the content and was drawn into it.
Aether went over to look at the book and immediately recognizes it.
"That's a book about a king from another world was sent to our world and save our people in ancient times,"
"Seems interesting,"
"It's a pretty great book I must say,"
They went to pay for the books which Loki picked out a book about dragons and the book Will was drawn into. Aether being the nice guy paid for the books saying "It's on me" which pissed off Loki.
"See ya,"
Aether, Purrine and the party each parted their way for they need to get ready for their next journey.
