In about two minutes the twister fanned outwards disappearing at the same time, only droplets rained down patting the remaining leaves and grass.
Xavier descended down setting feet into the crater that was destroyed by the twister earlier. The blonde boy didn't waste time running away.
" Until next time church boy," he murmured as he left.
Zaril'n rose up his back hurting, he shook his head and squinted his eyes, he watched as Xavier walked to him, but something felt different. Before Zaril'n could move or comprehend anything Xavier was pressing his blade across Zaril'n's throat.
Zaril'n felt as something warm ran down his neck and something about Xavier's presence made him tremble.
" You're a demon aren't you," Xavier stated pressing the blade even more on Zaril'n's neck.
Zaril'n shuddered at Xavier's words and trembled under his blade. Xavier's gaze was pinned to him, had he always known?
" I am," Zaril'n admitted his voice trembling.
" Why were you hiding between church walls? what's your motive? I'm sure you were settling nice and comfy to devour us later, I really hate you demons," Xavier snared.
" Not that any of that matter, I'll end you today," Xavier added coldly.
Zaril'n reached out and held the blade that was burning his flesh, but he wasn't going to die just yet.
" No! I am a demon, but I'm here as I want to be human," Zaril'n stated with confidence. He felt something wet and warm slid down his cheeks.
Xavier felt as if an asteroid had fallen on his head, he had never heard such bizarre words. A demon trying to be human, how was that even possible.
Xavier wasn't above to be swayed, demons are evil and that's that, if one is seen they are to be killed. Kill or be killed that was the rule. But hearing a demon wanting to be human was beyond his normal comprehension.
Xavier kept his sword pressed against Zaril'n's neck while staring into his eyes, whereas Zaril'n had his hand clasped against the blade that was burning his palm and neck away. After a few hard stares Xavier hair fell and his blade lost its glow.
Zaril'n was breathing heavily, both his neck and hand was bleeding and on fire. Xavier wasn't about to let his guard down and in a flash he grabbed Zaril'n by the throat.
" I should really kill you and be on with it,"
Zaril'n was trying to wriggle free, his body aches, and most of all he didn't want to die.
He had his hands squeezing on Xavier's arm, but the boy wouldn't budge. Xavier couldn't understand, but if he had the power to take on a human form and mask his scent why wasn't he fighting back?
As the light was dimming from Zaril'n eyes he had one thought in mind, and that was he couldn't die yet. He mustered every ounce of energy in his body and then slammed his forehead against Xavier's forehead.
" I will be human and meet God!"
The impact caused Xavier to stagger, but he did not release the boy, a trail of blood ran from his forehead and his nostril,
" You-" Xavier uttered in raged, but as he turned to the boy he had passed out with his forehead bleeding. Xavier scoffed thinking his situation was ridiculous.
" Who gets pass out by there own headbutt?" he thought to himself.
After some time Zaril'n woke up, his eyes fluttered, he heard birds and the wind was cool. He was under a tree and the sun rays were being blocked out, only a few rays managed to stunk in. He was laying in a bed of grass, and the smell was wonderful, he liked it. The human world was wonderful.
" Aren't you going to wake up?" a voice asked interrupting his peace. He exhaled and decided to pretend sleeping.
Zaril'n felt as a water bubble came over his face and he instantly sat up.
" I'm not asleep!" he blurted sitting up and the ball of water disappeared.
" I didn't notice," Xavier responded.
Zaril'n noticed he wasn't injured anymore, neither his neck or his hand hurt, looking at himself he realized he was in a different shirt, it was the one Xavier had on. Finally looking at Xavier he noticed the boy wasn't wearing a shirt and had a pendant around his neck. It was his first time seeing it.
Zaril'n stared at Xavier as if he was collecting data, he had never seen a human boy body before, Xavier stood tall and proud and the sunlight hitting his skin made him look remarkable. Zaril'n couldn't help but pat his own body, but he felt flat.
Xavier felt the boy's gaze, but didn't think much of it, not long after Zaril'n looked away remembering his situation.
They were quiet for a moment, Zaril'n felt pressured that his secret was out and both Xavier and Zaril'n was trying to figure out what would happen next.
" So you're a demon?" Xavier asked breaking the silence.
Zaril'n only nodded.
" What stage are you from?"
" The tenth floor,"
" I see,"
Xavier had many questions if not thousands, but for now he was feeling tired.
" Why are you here?"
" Well, I just wanted to be a human, Mister told be all about it and how beautiful everything was, not only that I want to speak to a God," Zaril'n asked with admiration and determination. " So I can't die until I meet God,"
A tenth floor demon that can mask it's scent and take on a human form, is that even possible? And who was this Mister he spoke of? Are there more demons who want to be human, but why? And he spoke with a human tongue so naturally, was he training?
" I could have killed you now," Xavier stated.
Zaril'n fell silent as a shiver ran down his spine. It was true, Xavier had more than enough power to kill him. Could he really survive the human world? And how long would it take to meet a God? There were a mountain a questions in Zaril'n's head. He then heard as Xavier exhaled loudly.
" Well what's your name?"
" It's Zaril'n,"
Xavier could hear the demon tongue thick rolling off the boy's tongue, he hated it, he should just slit his throat and inform everyone at the church, but something was preventing him. When he stared into his eyes, he felt that he was being genuine, but that was the nature of demons, to deceive others.
" Well whatever, let's go back,"
Zaril'n felt reluctant to.
" I won't tell the others, at least for now, so let's go back,"
Xavier had Zaril'n become familiar with Los, the horse was reluctant at first, but with Xavier it was a tat more willing. The cart was destroyed so they had to ride Los, Xavier was a on guard with the thought of a demon behind him and holding him around the waist, but what's the worst that could happen.
With that they rode off to reach back to the church before the sun sets.
The rode away leaving the crumbled, destroyed landscape behind, but Xavier didn't fell too bad, some kind person might fix the terrain or the earth would fix itself eventually, hopefully.
