Freya's pov
The place wasn't actually bad. It was really nice inside.
I glanced around admiring the simple decor of the restaurant.
Samantha was really right about the inside of this place.
She took us to a table near the table, which was really perfect for me since I loved sitting at window sides.
Samantha was all smiles like she was expecting someone cause she kept glancing around.
Me, I was just admiring this wonderful place – the chandelier in the top middle ceiling was nice. It smelled like rose perfume, so nice.
The tables were arranged perfectly in a symmetrical order, making sure each table aligned with it.
The windows were perfect cause we could see the outside environment perfectly but from outside one can't see from there.
It has a little mix of high-class and lower class. A perfect blend I never knew existed.
"So, let's make an order and maybe then we could do some other things." Samantha's voice disrupted me from my thoughts as she picked the menus and handed me mine to pick my order.
"Wow, this place really looks nice compared to the outside, the inside is exquisite." I told her as I took the menu from her.
She had that triumph smile of 'i told you so'
I playfully rolled my eyes as I scanned through the menu to figure out what I would have for brunch since I already had breakfast.
So after our orders, which I requested for pancakes and hot cocoa, she chose coffee and chocolate cake.
Once the waiter left, I had to ask Samantha why she's been glancing around like she was expecting someone.
"Samantha, are you expecting anyone or something?"
"Yeah, just a friend of mine I'd like you to meet." She smiled.
A friend?
That's new.
"Nevermind that, so where would you like to go after this, y'know there are many places we can explore." She said but with an edge to her voice.
I already started feeling uncomfortable with how she's been doing since she came.
Something is fishy here but I didn't dare say a thing and just waited for our food to come.
Finally, our food had finally arrived. We didn't talk much but sure enjoyed our food.
And let me tell you, these pancakes were heavenly delicious, with the juicy syrup– top notch.
I would definitely come back here again.
"Sammy!"
A loud voice was heard as it exclaimed.
I was startled at the voice.
Samantha stood up as a man around his mid 40s.
He had black hair and was a bit plus sized, with an apron tied around his waist.
His blue eyes crinkled with the way his smile grew.
He had subtle grey strands in his hair and wore a friendly energy around him.
Samantha hugged him as they chatted up, like they'd known each other long before.
She waved at me to come over to meet this guy.
As timid as I was, I went over hesitantly.
The man smiled politely at me as he whispered to Samantha,
"New friend?"
To which Samantha nodded, "yeah, she's a transfer student in my school."
"Freya this is my uncle Sam –yeah same as mine, my mum just wanted me to have kinda related name with her baby brother." Samantha rolled her eyes playfully.
Wow.
The friend is her uncle?
"Hello, nice to meet you. Glad to see that little Sam here has a friend, she doesn't even like people." He whispered the last part to which Samantha rolled her eyes when he mentioned little.
"Have you guys eaten or you want to have my specialty?" Sam asked, turning to get back to the kitchen to make something. But was stopped by Samantha.
"Nah we're good I just wanted to show my new friend here around " she said and took my hand to lead us out.
"Bye girls, stay safe." Sam waved us out.
"Ready to see the beauty of this place?"
She asked.
"Yeah."
"Get ready to get your mind blown then.
