"How did you know?"
"I could feel it. As a prime alpha, I am able to sense when a person is overflowing with mana energy. I felt it the first time I saw you."
"Then why did you let me come to the palace? And why did you go out of your way to protect me?"
Allen smiled faintly. "Because you captured me the very first time I met you. Call it greed or whatever you want, but I genuinely didn't care and I still don't. When you started talking about joining the military, I knew it wasn't only about proving a point like you kept telling me. I was hoping you'd be honest about it, but you got pissed when it wasn't going the way you wanted and it broke my heart. Also, I saw you fight that hybrid and I was low-key genuinely impressed, but that was before I intervened. I didn't ask you because I wanted you to tell me when you were ready."
I was completely stunned, my mouth was slightly open. I didn't even know what to say.
