After more than two hours on the road, Lydia and Elara finally decided to stop and rest for a while. Lydia was still not in her peak condition yet, both physically and mentally. That's why Elara told her to stay at the inn while she went out to get some food.
In times like this, Lydia would usually play around with her phone, but she was not in the mood to do that. She simply lay on the bed and stared at the fan on the ceiling, thinking about all the things that had happened in the past few days.
She heard the door unlock and open.
"Elara, is that you?" Lydia shouted.
"Yeah," replied Elara. "I got the sandwich, but I haven't bought the fruits and snacks yet. Sorry about that."
"It's okay, don't worry about it." Lydia still hadn't moved from her new favorite spot.
Elara put the food on the table and immediately entered Lydia's room. "I hurried back as soon as I heard the news. Is everything okay?" asked Elara. Her face showed a mix of shock and grief.
