Originally, Qin Yan had planned to travel to Planet Yardrat in the future to seek out the Yardratians and learn the formidable technique of Instant Transmission. Now, he could save himself the trip.
However, he wasn't sure which version of Instant Transmission this was. Having followed the Dragon Ball story, Qin Yan knew that there were roughly three versions of the technique in that universe.
The first was the version Goku learned from the Yardratians. This version of Instant Transmission wasn't exactly a combat move, but rather a special ability.
While the Yardratians were not particularly known for their high power levels, their repertoire of strange and peculiar special abilities was endless.
This version did not require traveling through physical space or consume any time; it allowed the user to move from one location to another in an instant.
Regardless of the distance even if one were at the edge of the universe they could jump to the opposite end in a heartbeat. It was an incredibly convenient and practical move for travel.
However, to use the Yardratian version, one first had to sense Ki. If you wanted to move to a specific destination, you had to be able to feel the Ki of a person or a living creature there. Simply put, this move could not take the user to places devoid of life.
Consequently, this was a massive test of the user's strength and talent. If your strength was too low, you couldn't sense Ki from long distances, effectively limiting your range. If your talent was too low, you couldn't learn it at all.
Yardratian Instant Transmission could also carry passengers, much like a car. There was no limit to how many could be transported, as long as they were in physical contact with the user. Goku had used it to bring others along many times.
Users of this version included the Yardratians, Goku, Perfect Cell, Vegito, and even Goku Black from Dragon Ball Super. When Goku performed it, he usually placed two fingers on his forehead to help his concentration, though it was possible to execute the move without doing so.
The second type was the version used by Kibito, the Supreme Kai's attendant. This version was different from Goku's. It didn't require sensing Ki to function; instead,
it could transport the user directly to any planet in the lower realm. However, because it didn't rely on Ki, it couldn't precisely target the location of a specific person.
Kibito had used this move, as had Kibito Kai the fusion of Kibito and the Supreme Kai via the Potara Earrings. Kid Buu also performed it during the finale of Dragon Ball Z.
While Earth was being destroyed, Kid Buu used this technique to jump from one planet to another throughout the universe, destroying them in succession.
One could say that Goku's version was for finding people, while Kibito's version was for finding places which made sense, given that it was a Supreme Kai attendant's job to travel to various worlds.
However, if a user capable of sensing Ki used this version, they could also specify a location near a sensed life form. For example, while on the Grand Kai's Planet,
Kid Buu sensed the powerful Ki erupting from Goku and Vegeta and teleported directly to them in the Sacred World of the Kai, effectively mimicking the result of Goku's version.
The third type was the version Meta-Cooler used in the Dragon Ball movie, The Return of Cooler. It was somewhat similar to the Supreme Kai's version in that it didn't seem to require sensing Ki.
Although the movie never explicitly stated whether Ki sensing was necessary, Meta-Cooler was a mechanical being and likely couldn't sense Ki anyway. Qin Yan suspected that this version functioned almost identically to Kibito's: you simply thought of a place and went there.
In the movie Cooler's Revenge, Cooler died in battle against Goku, but his brain drifted through space and fortunately fused with the main computer of the Big Gete Star. He became the core of the planet, took control of the entire star, and was reborn as Meta-Cooler.
His power level exploded to around 10 billion, and he gained this Instant Transmission skill. The move was likely part of his internal programming, meaning no one else could learn it unless they were a machine like Cooler.
Strictly speaking, the learnable versions were divided into two: the Yardratian version and Kibito's version.
Qin Yan quickly checked the description of the Perfect Instant Transmission he had received from his sign-in. Once he read the details, he was stunned. It wasn't Goku's version, nor was it Kibito's. Instead, it was a combination of both, elevated to a much higher realm.
This version could lock onto planetary coordinates or sense the presence of objects to teleport. Even more terrifying was its ability to pierce through universal barriers. This meant that if this world contained twelve universes like Dragon Ball Super, he could travel between them at will.
In short, it ignored all spatial barriers. He could go wherever he desired.
Qin Yan even speculated that it might allow for movement between different Great Worlds, though that was purely a guess for now.
This was truly fantastic. Once he mastered Perfect Instant Transmission, his future plans for returning to Planet Vegeta would be much easier. He could simply use the spatial coordinates of Planet Vegeta from his memory and teleport back directly.
This was incredibly timely. It saved him an immense amount of time and effort. After all, the round trip from his current location to Planet Vegeta took nearly a year. A year was enough time for Qin Yan to accomplish many things and significantly increase his strength.
Now, it was time to consolidate his power and master Perfect Instant Transmission as quickly as possible.
Without a second thought, Qin Yan activated the Chaos Profound Mechanism Ring. With a flash of white light, he vanished from the spot.
Within the internal space of the Chaos Profound Mechanism Ring, Qin Yan appeared inside the Taishi Chaos Palace.
He set the time flow to three times that of the outside world and the spatial gravity to 150 times Earth's gravity.
Once the settings were adjusted, Qin Yan walked out of the palace and arrived at the Training Dojo.
The moment he stepped onto the dojo, a crushing weight hit him, as if stars were falling from the heavens. Qin Yan's body bent slightly as he struggled against the immense pressure. Combined with the scorching heat and the thin air, even breathing became many times more difficult than usual.
"Damn!" Qin Yan grunted as he moved slowly, unable to resist complaining. "This really is heavy."
He began his cultivation under 150 times gravity. Every movement was a struggle, and the harsh environment only added to the burden. He could only trudge forward, one slow step at a time.
A day later, he was able to maintain a slow jog and began various basic exercises, such as push-ups and frog leaps.
Ten days later...
"9997, 9998, 9999."
Qin Yan's voice echoed through the empty space as he performed handstand single-finger push-ups. Each number represented one perfect rep.
Qin Yan was drenched in sweat. It fell from him like rain, only to evaporate instantly in the 50-degree heat of the dimension.
"10,000."
He let out a sharp exhale. Another set of handstand push-ups was complete.
He had finished every basic exercise multiple times, completing more sets than he could count.
By now, 150 times gravity no longer had a major effect on him. However, he didn't increase the gravity further.
This state of cultivation was sufficient for now and provided the most efficient training environment. Pushing the gravity higher would only place an unnecessary burden on his body and hinder his actual growth.
Cultivation required a step-by-step approach. Rushing for results would only lead to an unstable foundation, which was ultimately meaningless and would leave hidden weaknesses that would become apparent when facing truly powerful foes. Qin Yan wanted to build a rock-solid foundation, refining every ounce of his power to perfection.
Only in this way could he become a truly top-tier powerhouse.
Feeling his stomach growl, Qin Yan decided to refuel. He was tired of eating Senzu Beans and wanted to change his palate.
After a hearty meal, Qin Yan resumed his cultivation.
This time, he prepared for actual combat. He commanded the Chaos Profound Mechanism Ring to manifest a puppet that matched his own strength for a sparring match.
It was a humanoid puppet with an appearance very similar to his own. As his cultivation technique had improved, his control over the Chaos Profound Mechanism Ring had increased, and this manifestation was one of the new abilities he had mastered.
The puppet stood there like a wooden post, completely motionless.
Seeing this, Qin Yan took the initiative and charged. His figure vanished instantly.
At the exact same moment Qin Yan disappeared, the puppet's figure also vanished.
A thunderous boom echoed through the space as white light flashed and the dimension trembled. The sound of clashing steel rang out it was the shockwave generated by the collision of Qin Yan's fist with the puppet's.
Seeing that his first strike was blocked, Qin Yan attacked again. His fists rained down with meteoric speed, striking directly at the puppet's torso.
Faced with such a fierce assault, the puppet remained as calm as ever, effortlessly intercepting Qin Yan's strikes, which carried the force of falling meteorites.
Their figures flickered constantly throughout the space. Every collision was a world-shaking attack. Thunderous booms, like exploding planets, rang out incessantly. White light flashed repeatedly as the dimension vibrated, sending out countless ripples through the air.
In just a few breaths, Qin Yan and the puppet had exchanged thousands of blows.
"Ka... me... ha... me... ha!"
Realizing that close-quarters combat wouldn't settle the fight quickly, Qin Yan pulled back and launched a long-range attack to end it in one go.
As the energy finished gathering, a massive pillar of blue light erupted from his palms, screaming toward the puppet.
Faced with the incoming Kamehameha, the puppet stood dazed, as if it couldn't dodge or perhaps it simply didn't want to.
In an instant, the energy blast slammed into the puppet and exploded. A massive mushroom cloud rose into the air, radiating a light as brilliant as the sun.
A deafening explosion followed. the space shook violently, and a fierce wind ravaged the dojo like a magnitude-18 earthquake. It felt as if the heavens and earth were collapsing and the universe itself was reeling.
The blinding white light of the explosion filled the entire space, making it impossible to keep one's eyes open. Qin Yan's hair and clothes whipped wildly in the aftershock.
After a long while, everything returned to a state of calm. The smoke slowly drifted away. Just as Qin Yan thought he had successfully destroyed the puppet, a dark shadow appeared within the lingering mist.
No way! Qin Yan thought to himself.
As the shadow became clearer, Qin Yan's expectations were utterly crushed. Once the smoke completely vanished, the puppet's form stood clearly before his eyes.
Qin Yan watched, speechless and wide-eyed. It was impossible. The puppet was completely unscathed. After such a powerful attack, it hadn't taken a single scratch and that blast had carried seventy percent of his full power.
The gap shouldn't have been this large.
This was the classic case of "all smoke and no damage."
