I turned to the driver's seat and was somewhat surprised to see her there. Had she been speaking to me before? I mean, I knew she was driving us back to the city, but I just…forgot.
"Are you sure you're okay, Victoria?" Red asked from the backseat.
Another surprise.
"I'm…I'm fine."
I was fine. Wasn't I?
I couldn't tell. All I could think about was my sister. She'd hugged me and told me that everything was going to be all right. Did that mean that she was going to come with me tomorrow to see Mother? I wasn't sure. She'd disappeared before I could ask. She'd disappeared into thin air just like Haworth had. Was it one of the enchanted items she'd taken from him? Or maybe the black ravenstone Finn had mentioned, whatever that was?
"Well, your sister is really fucked up in the head," Amara said as she stopped the car. Had we arrived?
