[3rd POV]
As it turns out, the store was truly incredible. Like, way better than either of them had ever been expecting, even after seeing the sheer size of the store, and the amount of products inside. They couldn't even begin to count the sheer amount, especially when it came to all the luxury goods.
Billie and Haley had known that the store sold a lot of luxury products, like expense watches, handbags, shoes, and stuff like that. But they had not been expecting for there to be so much, and such a vast variety on top of that. They had a lot of goods that she had not expected, and if the bright grin that was ever present on her girlfriends face was any indicator, it seemed she had thought the same.
Haley so far, after being at the store for only around half an hour, and bought a few different things. The ones that Billie had noticed the most was a gorgeous pair of earrings, said earrings had cost quite a lot, but not enough to be a problem at all.
Billie had also noticed that her girlfriend had avoided specific brands, mostly the super high end ones that were probably going to be a pain in the ass to actually buy from. As she had scheduled potential meetings for several days, and they didn't need to buy them from a simple store like the one that they were in.
If they were going to buy from those stores in the first place, they had both decided that they were going to buy from the individual store. As in one of their own stores with nothing but their products. This way they have a guaranteed chance to see the most products that they might be interested in.
The stores that Haley had already confirmed she really did want to go to was a decent list. She wanted to go to the Hermes store in person. The Louis Vuitton store. The Chanel store. The DIOR store. The Rolex store (This one was mostly for Billie). As well as the Patek Philippe store, which was another watch brand just like Rolex.
The watch brand was probably just as well known as Rolex was, and was even more legendary. As in Billie's opinion, Patek Philippe tended to make better watches than Rolex did. But, it was a lot harder to get your hands on the actual good watches as Patek Philippe in comparison to the ones at Rolex.
Either way she wanted to go there, just in the off chance that they could get a watch that either Billie or her wanted.
At the moment the two were standing in line for one of the cafes inside of the shop. The safe had a large variety of foods inside, including coffee's, teas, macarons, croissants, and tons of other dishes and foods that would normally be found inside of a restaurant.
"It smells amazing in here" Haley whispered to her girlfriend, as she stood next to her. The cafe was pretty popular from what they could tell, with there being a decent line in front of them. This was likely because there were not a lot of places that sold food in the store.
"Somehow even better than the cafe that we had gone to" Billie whispered back, surprised. She doubted that the food was actually going to taste as good as the cafe that they had gone to, but it definitely smelled better.
She imagined that that was because the sense of smell was a very good thing to take advantage of. By making the store smell so incredible, it will make those that walk past it more interested in shopping and eating there, therefore bringing in even more customers than you normally would if you just kept it normal.
"What are you going to order?" Haley asked, curious. They had tried some pretty cliche items at the other cafe, so she was wondering if Billie was interested in trying something a bit more unique and new.
"I was thinking of trying their macarons. I've never had them before, but I've always heard good things about them. Even if I do think that they are rather boring at times" Billie replied after a few moments of thought.
She truly never had macarons before. The desert was unique in her eyes, and something that she had never even had in her past life or anything. She knew that they were usually quite bland, but she was still really interested in trying them at least once. Solely to satiate her curiosity when it comes to the taste of the desert in question.
"You've never had macarons before? Really?" Haley asked, surprised. She had thought that Billie would have tried more French dishes and deserts. And there was a ton of places back in LA that sold macarons and all sorts of other deserts that were French in origin.
"Nope, never. I've never really been into deserts all that much. And I've never really been into French dishes in general to be honest" Billie replied with a shrug, not lying. She wasn't really a fan of French food, at least when it came to the normal dinners. She did like quite a few of the deserts though.
Honestly this might just be because she hasn't really tried a lot of dishes that hailed from France, and had mostly eaten the cliche stuff that everybody has eaten before.
"...You know, the more I learn about your past and the things you have and have not tried, the more I'm beginning to think that you truly are weird" Haley replied bluntly, making Billie stare at her before snorting.
"Babe, we both know that you are just as weird as I am, if not even stranger. And before you say that that is not true, just remember, you like pickle and mayonnaise sandwiches" Billie said in response, as Haley blinked before opening her mouth to refute, only to find that she couldn't find a way to refute that statement.
She was not wrong...like at all. Which led to her just huffing in response, deciding that she was not going to continue that conversation, knowing her girlfriend would beat her in the "Contest of Words" as it was dubbed. She had never beaten her at it, and Haley was seriously beginning to doubt she ever would.
And honestly, she wouldn't really mind it that much. She loved the little banter that she had with Billie, it was a part of the reason why she loved her girlfriend so much. She was really damn charming, and she was constantly like that.
After a few more minutes of waiting, the two had ordered. The one getting their order had been a bit surprised when Billie had responded to them in perfect French, ordering a number of things. Most of them being foods that they were going to eat there, but a few of them were going to be taken back to the Hotel with them to try. That was mostly the cold bakery goods though.
Once she had ordered the foods, they had been asked to wait as it was a large one, and a few of the items in question was not ready just yet. The wait itself was only a few minutes, so now the two were sat across from one another, talking about all sorts of random things.
Like where they wanted to go next, what Haley was interested in buying, what they should get their family as a gift, and a number of other things that would pass the time.
All the while, Billie had only one thought on her mind.
'I wonder...what should I get for the family?'
