[3rd POV]
It had taken a bit longer than either of them had been expecting, but they did manage to get their bakery goods. And thanks to it taking so long, they had even thrown in a free muffin, to make up for the long wait.
The two had sat and eaten for a bit, finding that the bakery goods were not on the same level as the cafe that they had gone to earlier that morning, but it was still quite good, definitely better than the average bakery back in the US.
They had finished around half of the food that they had bought, before they had put the rest into a bag and got up to continue their shopping. The food was all the ones that were fine when they were cold, so it wasn't a problem. They had already finished all the food that was meant to be eaten when hot.
Their shopping trip inside of the store had continued for quite a while longer. As Haley slowly but surely began to find things that she had been wanting to buy. Like a handbag that she thought was really cute. Or a pair of earrings that would go perfectly with one of her favorite outfits.
Billie had not really bought much, but that was to be expected. This whole trip was more so for Haley than for her, so she was not really prepared to spend a ton of money on herself. She would probably buy herself a watch or two and that would be about it.
She didn't even really know why she had started getting into watches all of a sudden, but for some reason, she had been watching a lot of videos on them, and watch collecting in general. Which is why she was genuinely super excited to go to a Rolex store in person.
She was also hoping to find some more rare records/vinyls for her personal collection, as she had already bought quite a lot of them, but there were still a few others that she was interested in. Mostly ones that were a hell of a lot rarer than normal ones.
Ones that were one of a kind were on this list. Or other ones that were incredibly rare that had a very very limited amount of them ever made. Personally, she was currently trying to find the last remaining vinyls that she needed in order to have a copy of every single English vinyl for Michael Jackson.
She also wanted to go for the Beatles, but she found that some of their rarest vinyls were already in the hands of other huge collectors, and were definitely harder to get than the Michael Jackson ones. Which was not too surprising to her, and it did make a decent bit of sense in her eyes.
Besides buying a handbag and some jewelry at the shop, Haley had also bought a few other things. The big one was perfume, which there was a LOT inside of the shop. With there being all sorts of expensive fragrances of all types of variety. And there were quite a few that even Billie had to admit smelled great, which had led to her also buying some.
The other thing that Haley had bought quite a lot of ended up being makeup. She didn't actually use makeup nearly as much as she used to, mostly because Billie had admitted several times that she loved her for her, and her natural face was gorgeous to her either way.
So that had led to her utilizing far less makeup than she used to, and now she used it for her eyelashes and lips and that was about it. She also used creams and stuff but that was simply for her face and the health of it. To stop the formation of pimples and other stuff like that.
Even Billie did that. Knowing that it was good to do it every once in a while at the very least, to help keep the face healthy and good looking. It was just a smart thing to do, even if she didn't really care for it too much.
The amount of makeup that Haley had bought was a surprise to Billie, who had been expecting her to buy far less than she had. But it turns out that the young woman had bought so much because she wanted to try other types. She wasn't going to use them all or anything, and was going to gradually use them over a long period of time.
That and quite a few of them were actually not even for her, and were instead gifts for Alex, Claire and Gloria (although she did keep two extras just in case Cam and Mitchell were interested).
But finally, after shopping for what felt like forever, the two had left. They had first returned back to their hotel room, deciding to put everything away before they went to the Louvre. This was a safety reason of course, as they had spent thousands of dollars at least, and they would definitely get robbed if they hadn't done so.
Or they would have been threatened at least.
Paris was pretty well known for it's pickpockets. It wasn't on the same level as Rome or anything, but it was damn close. And that made them both wary, and both very careful about where they put their stuff, and how they kept it safe from getting stolen.
At the moment Billie and Haley are in the back of a car. It was a large SUV that Billie had rented out for the entire time there, and the driver was trusted. She was dead silent as the two talked to one another, knowing better than to intrude onto a conversation that did not involve her.
"So, what do you want to see first once we get there?" Billie asked, looking over at her girlfriend. She personally was interested in the Mona Lisa of course, but there was also the statues (or sculptures) that she really wanted to see.
She was incredibly interested in Greek culture, as well as the Roman. And the Louvre housed many sculptures from them, from thousands of years ago. They even had a few ancient statues from Egypt, ones that dated back even further than the ones from Greece and Rome.
"Honestly? I have no idea. I don't really know a lot about the museum. But I think it'd be fun to see some of the sculptures. I've never actually seen an actual ancient sculpture in person before" Haley replied after a few moments of thought.
"Oh? And why sculptures?" Billie asked, inwardly pleasantly surprised that her girlfriend wanted to see the same thing as her. The sculptures were FAR easier to get to in comparison to the Mona Lisa, which was always surrounded by people, and was the most visited art piece...like, period.
Haley went silent for a few moments, wondering if she should be truthful or not, before deciding that she was going to be.
"Because I want to see if they're actually as beautiful as people say they are. Or if they are literally just bunches of carved rock without much appeal" Haley replied bluntly, making her girlfriend chuckle. Even the driver had to bite back a laugh, knowing that Haley was likely going to be disappointed then.
The sculptures were only truly loved and understood by fellow sculptures, who understand just how much time and effort truly goes into making them. Nobody else can understand the level of craftsmanship, not to the same level at least.
With that conversation out of the way, the two soon had arrived at the museum. And as Billie got out of the car with a small smile on her face, she had only one thought on her mind.
'Time to see the Mona Lisa!'
