Chapter 33 – Betrayal Beyond the Portal
Our story begins from where it ended before.
Kartik –
"Hey System, check how many hearts we have now and store all of them in your space."
Evil System –
"Ok Master, but why are we taking out their hearts?"
Kartik –
"I'll tell you later. Just do what I said."
Evil System –
"Ok Master.
The total has crossed 20,000."
The scene shifts outside the portal.
Kluh –
He is sitting and thinking, "I should go inside now. By now everyone must be dead."
Man in the Black Cloak –
"It's not the right time to go inside. Someone is still alive in there."
Kluh –
"How do you know someone is still alive?"
Man in the Black Cloak –
"I just know. Everyone has their own secrets.
For now, it's not good for you to go inside."
Man in the Black Cloak –
"Sir, I am the manager of your post. I was assigned to make sure the rules are not broken.
You should value your seat. We hide and cover up all your bad actions."
Kluh –
He says angrily, "Fine. I won't go against the guild rules.
I will wait outside."
The scene shifts to the inside of the portal.
Kartik –
"Let's move toward the Boss Monster."
While walking, he suddenly stops.
"Who is there? Come out."
Then it is shown that a girl is hiding behind a rock.
Girl –
"Please don't kill me. I didn't see anything. I won't tell anyone."
Kartik –
With an evil smile, he says,
"I didn't even ask anything. Come here and tell me the truth. Since when have you been here?"
Girl –
She says nervously, "I have been with you from the beginning."
Kartik –
"So you saw everything?"
Girl –
"Yes sir. Please don't kill me. I can be useful to you."
Kartik –
"Then why didn't I feel your presence here?"
Girl –
"Because it's my skill. I can hide myself."
Kartik –
"Ok, I've asked enough. You will have to die."
Girl –
"Please sir, give me one chance. I will do whatever you say.
I can give you everything… even my body."
Kartik –
(Evil smile)
"Fine, I'll give you a chance.
All the humans who are still alive here—bring them to me.
And kill the Boss Monster."
Girl –
"Ok sir."
The girl disappears using her hiding skill.
"Sir, where will I meet you?"
Kartik –
"Near the Boss Monster's cave."
The girl leaves.
Kartik –
"How many points will it cost to get information about the Justice Guild?"
Evil System Window –
"500 points."
Kartik –
"Why so many points for such small information?"
Evil System Window –
"You will see for yourself."
Kartik –
"How many points do I have?"
Evil System Window –
"507 points."
Kartik –
"Ok, give me the information and take the points."
"Why can't I use my novel here? I can't even change anything."
Evil System Window –
"Master, you are inside the novel.
When you go outside, the book will work. Here it has no power."
Kartik –
"Ok. Go outside and keep an eye on Kluh."
Evil System Window –
"Ok Master."
The system disappears.
Suddenly, a black shadow appears.
Black Shadow –
"Open the portal now. It should be here."
Kartik –
"Are you sure it's here?"
Black Shadow –
"Yes. Use your pen to open the portal. Hurry."
Kartik –
"Why are you in such a hurry? You are getting impatient."
Black Shadow –
"It has been a long time since I got the chance to see my place again."
Kartik swings his pen in the air.
A black portal opens.
The portal requires a book.
Kartik asks the shadow,
"Which book does the portal need?"
Black Shadow –
"It needs your Seven Ring: First Stage Vol. 2. That book is the key."
Kartik –
"So that's why you were convincing me to open this portal."
A voice comes from inside the portal.
Voice –
"Do you have the book Seven Ring: First Stage Vol. 2?"
Kartik –
"Yes."
Voice –
"If you have it, place it in the slot inside the portal. The gate will open."
Kartik places the book.
Voice –
"Your book is being verified.
The book is correct. You may now enter the portal."
"And the ownership of the book will now be taken from you."
"From now on, you are no longer the owner of this book."
The book disappears.
Kartik (shocked) –
"What did you do?! You didn't tell me this could happen!"
Suddenly—
The Black Shadow smiles evilly and stabs a sword into Kartik's stomach.
Kartik (shocked)
"Why… did you do this to me?"
Black Shadow –
"Humans are so foolish. You trust too easily.
I won't kill you right away. I will make you suffer first."
Kartik loses consciousness.
The shadow grabs Kartik and drags him into the portal.
The portal closes.
The scene shifts outside where the Evil System Window was.
The system suddenly feels that something has happened to Kartik and he is no longer in this world.
It rushes inside the portal area.
There it sees Kartik's pen lying on the ground and a lot of blood.
After scanning it, the system realizes that the blood belongs to Kartik.
Shock and rage fill the Evil System.
A massive red aura bursts out from the system.
The entire jungle is covered in a red mist of aura.
No one can see anything anymore.
