The comfort of the mattress lulled Severine to sleep much faster than she had expected.
In her drowsiness, she seemed to hear a gentle voice buzzing near her, asking her something, but she was too hazy to comprehend.
She merely let out a nasal whimper before turning away and burrowing her head into the pillow.
But for some reason, the pillow appeared strangely hard.
Huh?
Oh well, she mused, not caring much as her fingers wrapped around the supposed pillow, which gave her the same feeling as someone's arm.
A soft chuckle drifted right against her ear before she lost what little touch she had with reality.
The next morning, when she woke, she found herself pressed firmly against Killian's chest.
"Mm," a soft moan spilled from her pursed lips subconsioulsy.
She blinked to clear the haziness clinging to her eyes, staring at a handsome face in a trance.
As if compelled by some spell, she touched his cheek. It felt squishy to touch. So, like a child, she did it again.
