"Cassian, just give it up."
Ryan, Cassian's manager, sighed heavily as he set a cup of iced coffee on the table. He sat across from the distressed Cassian and leaned back.
"The Luna has decided, and I find it absurd that you think she's making a mistake!"
"Absurd?" Cassian scoffed. "ABSURD?"
Ryan pressed his lips together and made a zipping gesture. It was too late, though. Cassian had already straightened up.
"Ryan, tell me how it's absurd, okay?" Cassian leaned forward. "After just one date, my Lizzie suddenly changed her mind! It's not exactly a secret that she only agreed to the harem not because she wanted attention, specifically from me!"
Why would she want your attention? — was what Ryan wanted to say.
He paused, eyes widening. "She agreed to it because she didn't want to get married. The harem was buying her time."
Ryan told himself to stay quiet. There was no point in arguing with Cassian. And yet his mouth moved anyway.
