[ELARA'S POV]
Eight and a half months pregnant when the text came.
Unknown number. Simple message.
Lucien sends his regards.
I stared at my phone. Heart racing. Hands shaking.
Lucien. The man who'd kidnapped me four years ago. Who'd held me in that warehouse. Who was supposed to be rotting in a European prison.
I called Damian immediately.
"Someone just texted me about Lucien." My voice didn't sound like mine. "Damian, how would they even know about that?"
"Forward me the text. I'm calling Marcus."
I did. Then sat there. Eight months pregnant. Three kids playing in the living room. Vulnerable in a way I hadn't been in years.
Marcus arrived within an hour. Traced the number. Burner phone. Untraceable.
"Could be a prank." He said. But his face said he didn't believe it. "Someone who read about the kidnapping. Trying to scare you."
"Or it's real." Damian was pacing. "Someone connected to Lucien. Coming after us."
