The silence inside the elevator was suffocating enough even though Alexis didn't really have the guts to start a conversation with him. Her mind was still stuck at earlier, making her replaying a memory she shouldn't be replaying right now in front of him.
Her cheeks were heating up for no reason and she didn't know how to control it at all. What's wrong? It isn't even that hot of a weather right now.
"So? How's everything?" She finally decided to say something just as the elevator reached her apartment floor.
Arthur took a deep breath while inspecting her face as if he wanted to read something from her expression. Then he finally uttered as few words as he could.
"As usual."
I don't think so.
Alexis almost said it out loud but she restrained herself at the last moment. How can she completely be open with the thoughts she was having all this time?
