"Wipe the frown from your face and try to act a little normal, for God's sake," Rebecca urged the man beside her although her tone wasn't authoritative like it usually is. She was almost whispering meekly.
"I don't want to play your stupid games," Arthur muttered under his breath. He was barely restraining himself from leaving her alone at the party. If he knew what kind of party it was and what kind of things he had to see, he wouldn't have agreed to accompany Rebecca.
"Listen, do you think I knew something like that would happen? Not even in my dreams, okay? But it happened anyway and only we can fix this together."
Rebecca was already at the edge of her sanity from what she just witnessed in the parking area. So, the last thing she wanted to happen was Arthur leaving before she could proceed with her plan. More like an already ruined plan.
"Oh my God, Rebecca? Is that you?"
