The Overseers didn't just stay in the sky. They sent down the Sentries of Logic. These weren't the massive Harvesters; they were human-sized, faceless drones made of white porcelain and red laser-wire. Their job was to "Sort" the crowd—identifying anyone with high Resonance and "archiving" them on the spot.
"They're taking the children first," Elias reported, pulling his Skiff-Bike into the Museum's loading dock. "The kids have the strongest emotional frequency. The Sentries are pulling them into 'Data-Cages' and hauling them toward the Empire State Building."
"The Empire State Building is the center of the Red Grid," Adriana realized. "They're using it as a giant processing hub."
"We have to intercept them," Adriana said, grabbing her Green Key. "But my Key is a beacon. If I step out there, every Sentry in the city will lock onto me."
"Then don't be a beacon," her mother's shadow whispered from the corner of the room. "Be a Void."
