Color-Tier Opportunity!
Most Pokémon are straightforward.
If they're angry—they're angry.
And right now, Lugia was very angry.
Fortunately—
She had no killing intent.
Otherwise, Tornadus and Thundurus would've truly been finished today.
After a long round of persuasion, Lugia finally calmed down.
"I will take you to your father."
Her irritation had always been directed at the two storm gods—
Not Ethan.
And truthfully, without Ethan's arrival, she wouldn't have been able to stop that battle anytime soon.
Reunion
Under Lugia's guidance, Ethan quickly spotted a familiar figure on a barren island.
Victor stood there—
Clothes torn.
Hair disheveled.
Looking far less dignified than usual.
But—
No major injuries.
Just scrapes.
"E-Ethan?"
Victor stared upward in disbelief.
The Noivern.
The silhouette.
His son.
He had barely been swept here—
And his son had already arrived?
"Dad. I don't know whether your luck is good or bad…"
"But you're alive. That's what matters."
Victor twitched.
"Luck? I got dragged into a Divine battle!"
Ethan rolled his eyes.
"If your luck were bad, Mom would be a widow right now."
Victor: "…Fair."
After changing into spare clothes, father and son prepared to leave—
When the sea suddenly surged again.
Lugia resurfaced.
"You helped me today. This is your reward."
Before Ethan could respond—
She vanished into the ocean once more.
System notification echoed:
[Golden Opportunity Detected — Lugia's Gratitude]
[×66 Critical Hit]
[Color Opportunity Acquired — Premium Water Gem, Premium Fire Gem…]
Ethan blinked.
In his hands—
A literal pile of elemental gems.
Not one.
Not two.
A mound.
At least twenty.
Victor stared.
"…Son. You're ridiculous."
As Champion, Victor had accumulated countless treasures—
But those were decades of slow collection.
Ethan?
He helped once—
And got showered in high-tier elemental gems.
"Just average," Ethan replied casually.
Victor: "…You are not average."
The Two Storm Gods
Metagross soon regrouped with them.
Tornadus and Thundurus lay restrained.
Ethan looked at Victor.
"These two caused the storm. What should we do?"
Capturing them outright?
Unlikely.
Their temperaments were volatile.
And forcing them could disrupt the harmony of his current team.
Releasing them?
Risky.
They might resume fighting.
"Bring them back," Victor suggested after a moment.
Ethan studied the two exhausted Divine beings.
"You're going in willingly, or do I make it unpleasant?"
Without hesitation—
Both entered the Poké Balls themselves.
Not fear.
Just exhaustion.
They'd fought long enough.
Ethan sighed softly.
"I don't like using force."
Victor understood.
His son had never subdued Pokémon through oppression.
Every companion had followed willingly.
Even now—
Despite surpassing him in power—
Ethan's attitude toward Pokémon remained unchanged.
"You did the right thing," Victor said quietly.
Home
Back at the estate—
Anna rushed forward with teary eyes.
"You're not hurt, are you?!"
"I'm fine," Victor said with a grin.
"Don't you know who your husband is?"
Ethan: "…"
Right.
Romantic moment.
In front of their son.
Excellent.
He turned away quietly.
Yes yes, I'll just exist over here.
