Chapter 124 - Golden Opportunity!

The Legend of Three-Cloud Island

Victor's safe return did not mean the crisis was over.

Two Divine-tier hot potatoes were still in Ethan's possession.

Tornadus

Thundurus

Two Divine beings.

Nowhere in the world was properly equipped to restrain them.

Not Donghuang.

Not anywhere else.

After internal discussion, Zuo Shenghui made the inevitable decision—

Ethan would keep them.

He hung up the call and sighed.

Of course it's me.

The issue wasn't just their strength.

It was their temperament.

Even while restrained—

They still tried to sneak attacks at each other.

If released unattended, they'd restart World War III.

At one point Ethan even considered—

Should I dump them in the Divine Eagle Alliance?

He quickly abandoned the thought.

Worst case?

Half the Alliance destroyed.

And two Divine Pokémon wasted.

Not worth it.

Attempt at Mediation

He released both of them in a remote wasteland.

Instantly—

They prepared to throw hands again.

They froze only because Metagross and Arcanine were already staring them down.

"One more move," Ethan warned calmly,

"And I won't be gentle."

"Hmph."

"Tch."

They crossed their arms and turned away from each other.

"Why were you fighting?"

"He started it!"

"He deserved it!"

"…You two are unbelievable."

Ethan pinched the bridge of his nose.

Talking it out?

Impossible.

Force-based compliance?

More effective.

"Back in the balls."

He had no patience left.

He didn't lack food.

He lacked peace.

Back to the South Sea

Victor barely had time to rest before departing again.

Storm aftermath required cleanup.

Destroyed islands.

Collapsed infrastructure.

Displaced residents.

"Dad, I'll come."

"And I'll make those two work."

They arrived at the most devastated island—

Three-Cloud Island.

From above—

It was tragic.

Crops destroyed.

Forests halved.

Buildings flattened.

Thankfully—

No casualties.

Ethan released his full team.

Including the two culprits—

Under strict supervision.

They were now disaster relief workers.

Golden Opportunity Detected

System prompt echoed:

[Golden Opportunity Detected — Reconstruction of Three-Cloud Island]

Ethan's eyes narrowed.

Golden tier… in disaster recovery?

Interesting.

While clearing debris, a small girl pointed at Tornadus and Thundurus.

"Big brother, why do you have two Landorus?"

Ethan paused.

Landorus?

Her mother hurriedly apologized.

But Ethan gently asked:

"What is Landorus?"

The woman pointed toward the island's only mountain.

"There's an old legend here."

"On that mountain is a stone monument."

"If you pray there, you can summon Landorus."

"They say Landorus nourishes the earth. Makes crops grow. Heals the land."

"But it's just a story."

"No one's ever succeeded."

Ethan looked toward the mountain.

A stone monument.

Summoning.

Nurturing land.

Cloud trio mythology clicked in his mind.

Landorus

Tornadus.

Thundurus.

And their mediator—

Landorus.

If the legend was true—

The Golden Opportunity might not be reconstruction alone.

It might be—

Completing the trio.

Behind him—

Tornadus and Thundurus both shivered simultaneously.

For no apparent reason.

They slowly turned—

And saw Ethan staring at them.

With a very thoughtful expression.
