When Kai blinked his eyes open to the harsh sunlight that slid through a slight gap in the curtains, it took him just a moment to orient himself.
He glanced down at the heavy weight on his chest and found Rami's broad, muscular frame curled up against his side, his dark curls rumpled from sleep and his arm wrapped around Kai's waist.
"Look at you…like an overgrown toddler." Kai laughed softly, smiling and threading his fingers through his hair gently until it was soft and free of tangles again.
Rameses let out a tired groan as he roused himself awake.
And then, as though suddenly remembering the events of the previous evening, he snapped his head up to Kai's face.
He chuckled softly, continuing to run his fingers through his hair, "Morning."
