When his full awareness returned, Kai allowed himself a few more moments of Rami's arms around him, his lips brushing against the thin layer of skin behind his ear, and the low, husky tone of his voice as he murmured quiet assurances.
If he closed his eyes now, Kai could have finally fallen asleep.
He sighed, one light shuddering breath, and tested his limbs.
The shaking had finally subsided but the persistent throbbing in his head was still there, muted under the warmth of another body enveloping him in heat.
As soon as he shifted forwards, Rameses loosened his hold and allowed him space to move away.
But Kai only turned around and stayed, kneeling in front of him, his head still dropped against his shoulder.
"...sorry. I'm sorry."
He felt Rameses shake his head and something warm, maybe his lips, pressed against the top of his head.
"I don't mind."
Kai laughed weakly against the hollow of his throat, "Well, thank you...again."
