<< To the Wilder (Piano Version) - Woodkid >>
30 days until the race
The dry heat of the morning sun was already chasing away the cold of the night as Kai and Aida skirted the edges of Nasiru market towards the school building.
In truth, Aida was going to be sixteen in four months' time and had been too old to be escorted to school a long time ago. And yet, despite the occasional proud remark and scathing insult directed at Kai, she had never asked for him to stop in earnest; which, in Aida language, was practically a fierce declaration of sisterly love.
"You're in a good mood today." He observed, noting the ghost of a smile on her lips.
Aida glanced up at him, her eyes flicking down to his neck and then away with a more pointed smirk, "Why would I not be? My brother has finally stopped being completely hopeless and the world makes sense again."
Kai narrowed his eyes, "Meaning?"
"Meaning, I know about you and Rami, and I approve of course."
