Aida POV
'Shit, shit, shit!' Aida cursed over and over inside of her head as she left through the school gates and raced towards the Demon Hunter Academy where she knew Kai and Rami would be.
It had started as a faint, directionless pressure at the back of her skull.
She had wanted to mention it to Yara when it began that morning, but Yara was understandably preoccupied by the fate of her older brother, whom the Council had recently drafted into a small party of Zenian Demon Hunters against his will - one that would be tasked with defending the walls against the persistent attacks.
And so, Aida had stayed silent, passing her a pretty flower she had picked from the gardens that lined the playground and listening as she vented her worries.
But as the day passed her by, Aida was no longer able to ignore it.
