Chapter 30 - Master of Fire Release

"He did it again..."

Hiruzen sighed helplessly, yet he showed a gentle smile and even pride as Suzuki was able to surprise Kurenai, the Jonin, and also quickly showed who should be the leader on the team.

While it might appear arrogant, Suzuki was the disciple of Hiruzen, so obviously, whether he wanted to or not, he had to become the best, and that was why watching how Suzuki was ready to show who was the best made Hiruzen smile.

The sudden, intense radiance blinded everyone, and, naturally, Shino panicked, trying to wave his fist, but somehow one of his feet was swept away, and he lost his balance, and all of a sudden, his body spun, and he was slammed into the ground!

BOOOOOOOOOM!

"Judo..."

As Hiruzen saw how Suzuki slammed Shino into the ground, he had to admit that this martial art was fascinating.

To use minimal effort to create a maximum result.

This was Suzuki's concept, and naturally, he didn't really hide it from Hiruzen, as it was just a martial art.

Even if he tried to hide it, it was impossible, as everyone would see what he did, but even so, a copy would always be a copy, and while they were stuck in a process, he would continue to evolve, which was why he had never feared someone would copy him.

And if they really did copy him, then it showed that his martial arts were better than any martial arts around.

Yet, that was also the reason why he chose judo, since it was effective, subtle, yet caused powerful damage, as gravity and the ground did all the damage.

Unlike striking martial arts, judo wouldn't hurt the user, as his hands or feet wouldn't break when they hit a hard object. Moreover, even if the opponents had mastered a jutsu that made their bodies as hard as a diamond, as long as they were slammed into the ground, their brains and insides would rattle, and they would be hit from the inside.

"You are strong, Shino, but your bugs are weak against heat."

Shino felt the temperature had increased, and the bugs were screaming, afraid of the fire that was so close, making him so helpless and also hopeless. "You won..."

Yes, bugs were powerful, but they were weak against the fire.

Unfortunately, Suzuki was a master of a fire jutsu, which was practically rare in Konoha despite it being located on the Land of Fire, and he also had a concept known as the Will of Fire.

As for Hinata, she didn't move, just watching Suzuki get close and lightly tap her forehead.

"You lose, Hinata."

"Um."

"...."

Suzuki was speechless, then ruffled her hair with a sigh. "Stay here. I will try to fight Kurena-san."

"Yes, Suzuki-kun." Hinata's face was so red, yet even so, her eyes never looked away from Suzuki.

As for Kurenai, the moment Suzuki activated his flashbang jutsu, she had already run away, moving away from the battle, waiting for her eyes to recover.

What was that jutsu?

She had never seen such a jutsu, and, frankly, while it didn't do any damage, it was a nuisance and troublesome, as the intense light made her eyes go blind for a while.

"Ugh..."

Kurenai had never thought that she would be played by a genin!

Yes, Suzuki was the disciple of Hokage, yet even so, he was still a 12-year-old kid!

How could she lose to him, right?

Yet, unexpectedly, she might lose to him, as this time, Suzuki planned to show the true master of the fire release.

"Katon: Shinkiro" (Fire Release: Heat Mirage)."

"Shino-kun, watch him. He will show you his mastery over the fire release."

As Hinata's voice fell, Shino pushed the frame of his glasses as he was at a loss by the sudden transformation of Suzuki.

Katon: Shinkiro (Fire Release: Heat Mirage).

As this jutsu was used, Suzuki's body appeared to be distorted for a moment, but it was just a moment, and no one really realized it except for Hinata.

Yet, during that moment, Kurenai threw a kunai.

Swooosh!

The sharp kunai tore through the wind, ready to stab Suzuki's body, and Suzuki was too late to dodge!

"Suzuki-kun!'

However, for those who knew him, they felt something amiss, and as expected, instead of bleeding him, the kunai passed through his body, rippling, then nothing happened.

"Eh?"

"...." Kurenai, Shino, Hiruzen, and everyone.

"Huh?"

Suzuki was calm, but the rest wasn't!

So, what was this jutsu?

This was the jutsu Suzuki created by combining one of the basic jutsus he received from the school with the Fire Release: Great Fireball and the Transformation Technique (Henge Jutsu).

The Transformation Technique was usually used as a physical disguise (turning into a person or a shuriken).

However, Suzuki decided to combine it with fireball jutsu to create an optical illusion without needing high-level Genjutsu.

How was this done?

The Great Fireball produced immense heat. Heat expands the air, changing its density and bending light (refraction). Instead of launching a fireball at an enemy, he "swallowed" the technique—holding the superheated chakra around his skin or breathing it out slowly to surround the battlefield.

Yes, he used the transformation technique, not his shape, but to project his image onto the distorted, heated air.

As a result, everyone saw him standing in front of them, but because of the heat refraction, his actual body was two meters to the left, and what Kurenai struck was the "mirage," hitting nothing but hot air.

This was his desperation, the technique that he had been thinking of developing, and fortunately, with the help of the "Manager," he could complete this jutsu.

This was his survival jutsu, and he knew that as long as his figure was hidden by this "mirage," no one could kill him, and he was safe unless one was strong enough to create an AOE (Area of Attack) type of jutsu, blasting the environment directly.

Fortunately, the number of people who could do that was so small, or rather, it was rare to see someone who could do a wide range of attacks, as in most cases, a ninja had only mastered the three basic jutsu instead of an elemental type of jutsu like him.

Still, without a doubt, Kurenai was startled and quickly broke away from the illusion!

"Kai!"

As her chakra shook, she thought that she had broken away from the illusion, yet unfortunately, Suzuki was the same, standing so nonchalantly that she threw the kunai again, but as expected, the result was the same, as it passed through.

"How?! Don't you use a genjutsu on me? What did you do?!"

"There is no way that I will answer that question, right?"

So, was his technique a genjutsu?

Suzuki wasn't sure, but unlike a normal genjutsu, which attacked the mind, his "Katon: Shinkiro" distorted the air, creating a mirage that hid his real body.

Still, when he thought of the description of genjutsu, which was an illusion, this jutsu could be called one, but this was a new type of genjutsu, a physics-based genjutsu.

It was said that the Uchiha Clan, who held the Sharingan, were the best genjutsu users, but with Suzuki's physics-based genjutsu, they wouldn't be able to do anything since his jutsu was an actual distortion in the real world instead of an illusion in their brain.

However, this was just his prototype, as he had already thought of the further development of this jutsu, but before that, let's start his counterattack.

"Katon: Netsu-Shikaku."

At that moment, nothing was hidden from him.
