Chapter 34 - The Studious One

"Let's study together, Oppa!"

"It's already 03.00 AM, but as he is still studying, I will also continue studying for my exam!"

"Oppa, don't forget to drink! Drinking water is important!"

In South Korea, the "Gongbang" (Study Broadcast) or "Study With Me" trend is massive.

Moreover, while it might sound narcissistic, his face was above average; he was also a student at SNU and a hard-working orphan.

With all of those combinations, it would be weird if he didn't get wealthy, and frankly, his deceased grandmother also supported him, especially when it could help him to make money while studying for his school, which was like... so lucky, right?

It was like the saying 'killing two birds with one stone'.

In a place where people mostly used plastic surgery to look their best, his face was just enough, but he also styled himself so that he would be eye-catching and elegant, like a scholar in a natural way.

Still, it was also due to this move of his that he had made quite a sum of money. His monthly income was even higher than that of most workers, low-rank hunters like his neighbor, or even a corporate manager, which made him glad to be so lucky and grateful for his courage to take a step in his industry.

Regardless, let's explain about his channel first, which he named "Quiet Study."

Why did he name it that way?

It was because he was too lazy to talk; he was just too tired of studying, working, and all the other things, so if he could make money by studying without saying anything to the viewers, wouldn't it be good?

Fortunately, he was successful, and while he wasn't the top, he was in the top tier of "study influencer."

So, how did it work?

His content was simple: a live stream of 6-10 hours of him just studying in the library or his small room. No talking, just ambient noise (ASMR) and page turning.

Sometimes, he also did vlogs, such as "Exam Week Vlogs," "What I Eat at the SNU Cafeteria," or "Library Tour."

So, why did they watch him?

Well, based on his psychology knowledge, which he learned at the university, people came for the motivation, such as "If he can study for 10 hours, so can I!"

Still, in most cases, they stayed for the visuals ("He looks like Cha Eun-woo when he concentrates").

Damn, it was a shame he was compared to others. Still, as he studied, he realized the "Manager" could help him manage his biological system, optimizing his body's function and appearance.

Yes, in simple terms, he could become more handsome by gaining the "Manager."

It wasn't to the point of the supernatural, good-looking face like Boa Hancock on One Piece that could make all the men and women into slaves with her face, but at least, if he decided to enter the entertainment industry, which he likely wouldn't, he would be eye-catching, and probably have a net worth of $5,000,0000, at least.

Still, how much of his income is from his work as an influencer?

Good question, but his income came from several sources, and this was the breakdown.

The first one would be the YouTube AdSense, or the viewers. The study is long. By that logic, a long video would have a high watch time, which meant high ad revenue.

He had about 300,000 subscribers, which was realistic for a "Handsome Genius" SNU student. He had about 1,000,000-2,000,000 monthly viewers, and his income from AdSense was about 2,000,000–4,000,000 KRW ($1,500-$3,000 USD) per month.

It might not be much, but he also got the sponsorship, which was the real money, especially when Korean students were obsessed with stationery, desk setups, vitamins, and energy drinks.

So, he got various deals from:

1. Stationery Brands (Morning Glory, Jetstream): ~2,000,000 KRW per video mention.

2. Study Apps / iPad Apps: ~3,000,000 KRW per integration.

3. Health Supplements (Red Ginseng): ~1,500,000 KRW per post.

If he does 2 sponsored videos a month, his income would be ~5,000,000 KRW ($3,800 USD) monthly.

Lastly, the third, his income came from the Live Stream Donations (Super Chat / Toonation). Yup, his fans, who usually came from stressed high schoolers and lonely office workers, were watching him study late at night, which would give him a donation.

"Oppa, have a coffee!" (5,000 KRW).

"Good luck on your exams!" (10,000 KRW).

How much of his income is from streaming?

Based on his experience, a conservative estimate would be ~1,000,000 KRW ($750 USD) per month.

So, in total, his monthly income was about ~9,000,000 KRW (~$6,750 USD).

While some might say it wasn't much, he felt wealthy as a student. Even without his scholarship, he could easily pay his own tuition.

Even so, while it was a lot of money, he had to pay the tax. Frankly, the tax wasn't a joke, as the government needed money to pay for the military to protect the country from threats from North Korea and dungeons, and probably also to be taken by the politicians and bureaucrats, too.

[Report. It is reported that the user should rest. Your body is almost at its limit. You should decide to rest—]

Min-jun knew that he had to rest, but if he rested, then how would he make money?

If he rested, then how could he live, right?

If he had time to sleep, he should study more, and this was what he was thinking, and when he thought so, especially when he was still doing his "24-Hour Exam Cram Study With Me" live stream. It is 3:00 AM. 15,000 people are watching live.

The viewers, endorsements, and also the donations were on the roll!

If he slept, then he would lose all of his chances, so even if he heard the report fromReportManager," he decided to ignore it, as he felt that he was okay, but all of a sudden, he felt an intense pain in his chest.

"Ugh...!"

He dropped his pen. He groaned in pain. The camera shook.

Blue light exploded in his room, blinding the webcam.

"..."

All the viewers were dumbfounded and at a loss, then quickly bombarded the chats!

"IS THIS SPECIAL EFFECTS??"

"OPPA?? ARE YOU OKAY??"

"WAIT, IS THAT MANA??"

Everyone was startled, and his viewership continued to grow as they quickly told their friends, families, and others about his situation.

The internet does not just break; it shatters, and from the sheer power of the impact from his momentum, everyone was sure that Min-jun was awake as an S-Rank Hunter!

[Report. The user has just awakened as an S-Rank Archer Hunter.]

"..." Min-jun.

...what the heck?

---

Try to guess his Hunter class, okay?
