"As expected. Even an unholy god contaminated by madness still falls under the category of innate deities."

Standing on the lead-gray land, Hiro nodded in satisfaction as he perceived the Goddess of Wisdom within the [Simulated Star Map], along with the star born from her existence.

"In that case, the gods of High School DxD should also fall within the sealing range. That perverted old man Odin, the troublesome Indra-Shakra Devanam-Hades, and the rest."

"As for Rias Gremory's brother, the transcendence-level Lucifer... according to Biblical mythology, he probably doesn't count as a god."

"No matter what, the Yahweh of the Campione! world definitely meets the criteria."

Thinking of the one true God-Yahweh, the Lord-who had personally killed him not long ago yet never revealed His true body, Hiro narrowed his blue eyes slightly.

"It's a pity that False Star Tai Sui can only seal and halve spiritual status. There's no way to kill the gods inside. I wonder if I'll be able to break through that limitation as my ability improves."

"A mere Authority like Amaterasu's is far inferior to something like a [Simulated Star Map]."

After acting as a "primer," Hiro sensed no further meaningful feedback from [Takama-ga-hara], as if its potential had already been exhausted.

Within the current [False Star Tai Sui], aside from the star beneath Athena's feet, only the orange-red blazing sun-more than a hundred million kilometers away-emitted any presence.

Everything else was cold.

Empty.

Dead.

Naturally, in this newborn-or rather, just-beginning-universe, there were no existences that could be defined as "living."

Athena was the sole exception.

"The Star Spirit of the Primal Star? No. God of the Second Star would be more accurate."

"So Athena's true name has effectively become Byakuya Athena?"

"A god... no. With a Primal Star involved, there should theoretically be a corresponding Primal Star Spirit. But even in The Garden, having a three-digit rank under those conditions would be unprecedented."

"The Primal Star of The Garden isn't on the same level as a Primal Star from the outer universe."

"Without the spiritual status of the Final Trial of Humanity, she definitely won't reach the level of the White Night King."

"And besides, I haven't fully grasped False Star Tai Sui yet. Who knows what it will eventually evolve into?"

Ending the brief internal monologue, Hiro sensed movement from Athena within [False Star Tai Sui], as if she were attempting to seek the truth of the star born from her existence.

The Star Map immediately manifested in his palm.

He released her.

The star created by Athena did not vanish with her departure. It remained, continuing to exist as an established "fact."

Having just emerged from that despairing world, Athena clearly hadn't fully recovered.

Her eyes-now without the "Medusa's Eye"-looked unfocused.

She tapped the ground lightly with the handle of her right-hand scythe, steadying herself.

"Yo, Athena. Judging by your expression, the experience inside wasn't exactly pleasant."

"Before we resume fighting, do you need some buffer time? A cup of tea, maybe?"

Hiro smiled as he teased the Goddess of Wisdom.

It's a pity I don't currently have Conceptual Manifestation. Just saying it feels incomplete.

"No. There's no need."

As if nursing a headache, Athena pressed her left hand to her forehead and shook her head slightly.

The resentment and arrogance she'd shown earlier were gone.

In their place were surprise and hesitation, as if she were struggling with something internally.

After staring at the pitch-black giant scythe in her right hand for a moment, Athena slowly loosened her grip.

The scythe dissipated into the golden world.

She didn't chant any spells.

She didn't draw another weapon.

Instead, she looked at Hiro calmly and slowly raised both hands.

"Nanamiya Hiro. I think we should sit down and talk."

"Talk?" Hiro replied. "Like... 'I'll hand over my Authority to you'?"

Wearing white cloth sandals, Athena walked toward him without any trace of hostility.

What is this?

First Amaterasu Oomikami, now the Goddess of Wisdom too.

Why are you all treating death so lightly?

Was the Iris I killed earlier a fake goddess?

Since Athena showed no intention of fighting, Hiro naturally didn't object.

He dismissed the golden sword in his hand and returned to the familiar shrine.

It was just Athena.

Even if she went back on her word, could she instantly kill him three times? Or escape his perception?

Confidence was built on strength.

The sunlight streaming down made Athena-the underworld goddess of serpents and owls-frown slightly.

"Then let's go inside first."

Glancing at her profile, Hiro shook his head helplessly and led her toward Yuri's location.

I was possessed and body-snatched by Amaterasu for nearly half a month, and I've only been back for a few minutes.

I wonder if Athena will notice anything.

...Probably not.

"This child looks like she could become a decent miko. Did you abduct her?"

Sitting across from Hiro and Yuri, Athena glanced at the golden-haired girl beside him with curiosity.

"Abduct her?" Hiro replied flatly. "Do I look like that kind of person?"

He reached out and gently stroked the golden hair resting on his lap.

Even as he and Athena spoke face-to-face, Yuri showed no signs of waking.

If Athena was a goddess, then the girl on his lap was Sleeping Beauty.

The difference was that one was genuine, and the other was temporarily so.

"Back to the point," Hiro said. "You mentioned handing over your Authority. How do you plan to do that?"

"By taking Medusa's divinity as my core-me, Athena, Goddess of Wisdom and Victory-and allowing myself to be slain by you."

"That isn't difficult."

"Of course, the prerequisite is that the Dark Ritual within your body is the same as Pandora's."

The same.

It should be the same.

So does that mean I can deceive the System?

...Given how unreliable it is, that actually sounds possible.

As that thought crossed his mind, two fully armored girl knights-one clad in gold, the other in silver-burst into view.

"Hiro!"

"O King!"

When the two girls saw the boy and the goddess sitting opposite each other, apparently engaged in calm conversation, they froze on the spot.
