Chapter 225 - Chapter 0225 - The Escape Stops for One Duel

Desrook Archfiend smiled. "But we should leave quickly for now. Vampire Lord is holding back Warden, but that old fellow is still troublesome. I have already arranged an escape route over there, and there are people outside Student Council waiting to receive us. If we do not move fast, things may get complicated."

"Hmph, fine. I had wanted to Student Council Student Council that old thing again and settle old accounts with him. But I will spare him today and deal with it next time."

Just as Desrook Archfiend was about to unlock the cell, he suddenly froze.

He turned his head and discovered that, at some point, someone was already standing in front of him.

"Hm?"

Both Desrook Archfiend and Patrician of Darkness were stunned.

He was not wearing a guard's uniform.

"You are a prisoner too?" Desrook Archfiend said in a low voice. "Move aside. I will not Student Council take you with us."

"Is that so? Then what a coincidence. For now, I do not plan to leave either."

Yugen smiled.

He had not finished full-clearing this map yet, so why would he rush to open the next one? And from what that four-eyed Fiend had said earlier, this Patrician of Darkness seemed to be the hidden boss among the prisoners.

In other words, he was one of the most valuable treasures on this map. Yugen had zero tolerance for anyone trying to interrupt his full-clear achievement. People could leave if they wanted, but first they had to drop the loot.

"But I am afraid you two will not be leaving that easily."

Yugen raised his arm. Pale blue ripples of data gathered around it and solidified into a Duel Disk.

Both the Fiend and the Earl were shocked.

"You want to stop us?"

The prisoners in the surrounding cells were confused as well. What was going on here? Was he not a captive just like them?

Could he be an undercover guard planted among them?

In truth, besides wanting to farm equipment drops, Yugen really did have a bold idea, a rather interesting plan of action. But the first step was still to make these two drop their loot here.

"I do not know what madness has seized you, but we do not have time to waste on you here."

Desrook Archfiend stepped forward and lightly swept his staff. Water magic activated again, circling around him before finally taking the shape of something like a Duel Disk on his arm.

It seemed that the Duel Disk forms used by Spirits also differed from one another. Desrook Archfiend's Duel Disk was bone white, and it even looked as if it had been made from a real skeleton.

"Earl, please wait a moment." Desrook Archfiend narrowed his eyes. "I will deal with this ignorant brat first, and then we will be on our way. Student Council It will not take long."

"Duel!" x2

Yugen, LP 4000.

Bishop, LP 4000.

"Looks like I go first."

The bishop let out a low snort. Then he said, "My Turn! Draw." He glanced at his hand, quickly pulled out a card, and declared, "I activate a Spell Card! 'Pot of Duality'. I reveal the top three cards of my Deck, choose one to add to my hand, and return the rest to the Deck."

Yugen narrowed his eyes. It was actually the legendary Pot of Duality.

Back in the era from Synchro to Xyz, this card's status had been almost on par with the old Pot of Greed. As long as a competitive Deck existed, almost everyone in the Student Council used it. Even though it prevented Special Summons for the rest of the turn, that restriction was completely acceptable for the pace of that era.

In fact, Yugen had looked into every card with "Pot" in its name on the market, so he knew Pot of Duality had not been released outside yet. It seemed Kaiba Corporation and Industrial Illusions had already gotten internal news about it, and it was probably still an unrevealed new card. Yugen gave a slight nod, thinking this really was a familiar Monster worthy of recognition even in disguise, and he already had cards far more valuable than the trash Deck inside the Bunker.

For Yugen as he was now, Pot of Duality might not even be all that useful. Still, since it was free, keeping a copy in reserve was not a bad idea.

Archfiend Bishop drew the top three cards from his Deck in one motion, then curled his lips into a faint sneer. "Heh, looks like your luck isn't very good. I turned up such a powerful card right away."

He showed one of them. "Then, by the effect of 'Pot of Duality', I choose this powerful Trap, 'Sakuretsu Armor', and add it to my hand!"

Yugen: "..."

Well, how should he put it. It really was a powerful Trap.

In every sense of the word.

"Then I activate a Spell Card! 'Pot of Greed', Draw two cards from the Deck." The bishop drew his cards. "Then I Summon 'Warrior of Atlantis'!"

Warrior of Atlantis, ATK 1900

"Next, I Set two cards in the Back Row, and end my turn," the bishop said.

Yugen looked at the opponent's monster. It was a crocodile, but not one from the Demon Tribe.

Then he recalled that this man had opened the way with a water spell the moment he arrived, and the spells he used afterward also seemed to be mainly water-based. Yugen understood at once. "I see. A water mage, so you're using a WATER Deck. Then, my turn. Draw."

"From my hand, I activate the Quick-Play Spell 'Hand Destruction'. Both sides discard two cards to the Graveyard, then draw two cards."

Archfiend Bishop picked two cards from his hand and discarded them, then let out a soft laugh. "Looks like your hand wasn't very good. If you surrender now, it's still not too late."

Yugen ignored him and drew five more cards in one breath. Then he said, "I Set five cards in the Back Row and end my turn."

Archfiend Bishop: "?"

Patrician of Darkness: "?"

No Summoned Monster? And five face-down cards right from the start?

What kind of play was this?

"So even after replacing your hand, you still didn't draw a monster you could Summon?" Archfiend Bishop said with contempt. "So you're just a clown. In a place like this, there was never much chance of meeting a truly strong duelist anyway."

Patrician of Darkness spoke in a low voice. "Be careful. I think this kid may be off."

The Earl had always kept to himself in the Bunker, so he had not seen the Duel Yugen fought in the square earlier. But from the boy's calm attitude, and from the confidence with which he set five cards in the Back Row and passed with an empty Front Row, he instinctively felt that something was wrong.

"Relax, Earl. He's just trash. I can handle this level in no time," the bishop shouted. "My Turn! Draw!"

"I send the Quick-Play Spell 'Mystical Space Typhoon' and Destroy one of your Back Row cards first."

"Then I chain to Mystical Space Typhoon and activate my Set card, the Counter Trap 'Dark Bribe'," Yugen replied, still completely composed. "When the opponent activates an effect that targets a card in their own Spell and Trap Zone, that target is moved onto this card. After that, I Draw two cards from the Deck." (ANIME EFFECT)

"What?"

The bishop frowned as he watched his Mystical Space Typhoon, which had been aimed at Appropriate, shift onto that "Dark Bribe" instead. Yugen immediately drew from his Deck.

"Tch, so you even had protection for your Back Row."
