Desrook Archfiend's mouth twitched as he ground his teeth and glared at the Jinzo across the field, its arms folded. Damn it, that thing was supposed to be a trap killer fighting for the living world, yet it had joined hands with the people of the Underworld. What a filthy tactic.
"I'll set one more card to the Back Row and end my turn," Yugen said softly.
"All right, it's your turn again."
"Tch. My Turn!, Card Draw." Desrook Archfiend drew and spoke in a low voice.
"The combo of Jinzo and Amplifier does put me at an absolute disadvantage when it comes to trap suppression. And the face-down card in your Back Row is probably a powerful trap that can stop my plays and my attacks.
But useless!"
A crimson light flashed in Desrook Archfiend's eyes. He raised his voice and declared that he was Desrook Archfiend, one of the strongest among the noble Demon Tribe, and that such a simple setup was nowhere near enough to leave him helpless.
"I activate the Spell Card Nobleman of Extermination! Destroy one set Spell or Trap Card on the field and banish it. If the destroyed card is a Trap Card, then all cards with the same name in both Decks are also banished!"
He pointed at the set card on the left side of Yugen's Back Row. "Destroy that face-down card!"
A slash of light fell and split the set card in two. In that instant, the Bishop clearly saw that the card was Magic Cylinder.
"That was close," the Dark Bishop snorted. "If I had taken another Magic Cylinder in this situation..." Then his expression changed.
Before the image of the destroyed Magic Cylinder had fully faded, a wash of golden light rolled over it and transformed it into a different card.
"Trap Card Fake Trap," Yugen said with a smile. "When another trap on my field would be Destroyed, this card is destroyed instead."
He paused, then glanced at the other remaining set card in his Back Row and smiled again. "But now you know. Yes, this one is Magic Cylinder. So what are you going to do now?"
"Damn it..." Desrook Archfiend clenched his teeth. That smug tone and irritating expression were bad enough, but the worst part was that he had no other good answer in hand.
"Then I I activate a Spell Card! Pot of Greed. If the opponent controls a Special Summoned monster and I control no Monster, I draw two cards from the Deck." (ANIME EFFECT)
Desrook Archfiend drew from his Deck. At once, Yugen said, "Then at this moment, by the effect of Appropriate, when the opponent draws outside the Draw Phase, I also draw two cards."

He pulled a card from his hand. "I Special Summon the Level 4 Mermaid Knight!"

"Next, I use the Spell Card Magic Planter, send my Continuous Spell to the Graveyard, and draw two cards." Using its original effect, Desrook Archfiend sent the Continuous Spell that had just used its effect to the Graveyard and drew again.
"Then Appropriate takes effect," Yugen said cheerfully. "I draw two more cards."

"Then I offer the token as a tribute and Tribute Summon!" Desrook Archfiend raised his hand high. "Awaken here, my ace, the ice dragon sealed since ancient times!
Level 6, Frostosaurus, Summon!"
A sharp freezing wind swept across the field as the huge body emerged from the mist. It looked like a moving iceberg, its massive frame covered in thick layers of ice that glittered with a clear radiance.
The giant dragon filled the field the moment it appeared, and the entire duel seemed to sink under a sheet of cold. Frostosaurus, ATK 2600.
The corner of Yugen's mouth lifted. This card was nice too.
He might not have much use for it himself, but Frostosaurus was the highest-ATK monster in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Pool that could be Summoned with only one tribute, and it was also a proud Bonz card with no side effects at all. By current outside-world Duelist standards, it was easily a super-rare big monster and the kind that sold for a lot of money.

A ripple of magic like flowing water wrapped around Mermaid Knight, covering its whole body with shimmering energy.
"Let's go!" Desrook Archfiend shouted. "First, Frostosaurus attacks Jinzo!"
Frostosaurus opened its mouth and blasted out a vortex of frozen crystals. Jinzo was instantly frozen into an ice statue, and with a sweep of the dragon's tail, it exploded into shards across the ground.
Jinzo felt miserable. Damn it, after finally making a debut, it still had not lasted long enough to take a head.
Yugen, LP 4000 to LP 3800.
This was the first time since the duel began that he had touched Yugen's Life Points, and it meant he had finally begun to break through the other side's line. The Bishop regained a little confidence.
"Then Mermaid Knight attacks Jetroid!"
