Chapter 169 - Chapter 169: Complete Annihilation

As the green sword light flew straight toward him, he felt a sharp, splitting pain hit his skin—the slight threat of an injury—and yet, despite this, he didn't dodge.

He simply stood in place, watching the sword light approach with calm indifference.

If even an attack of this level can harm me... what's the point of being a body cultivator?

Huang Shi stared at the incoming flash of green sword light, waiting for the attack to reach him. Before long, a loud rumble erupted from the point of contact, and a sharp sword hum resounded throughout the area.

BOOM!

As dust and debris flew through the air, clouding his entire body from view, all three of his assassins—who had previously been smirking and acting with complete arrogance—suddenly froze. Their eyes squinted and fear clouded their features as they quickly realized something horrible was happening.

"W-what is happening? H-he didn't get injured?"

The person who spoke was the man who looked like a snake. He spoke with a trembling voice, his hand quickly clutching at his waist, grabbing hold of his sword.

Even the person who was supposedly the strongest of the three felt his heart start beating faster and faster. Unlike his other allies, he quickly raised his sword and delivered a wide vertical slash, a powerful green sword light erupting from his weapon.

WHEENG!

"You damn idiots! Hurry up and attack! Attack together! Unless you want this day to be the anniversary of your dea—"

All of a sudden, before the man could even finish his words and before the attack could even reach its target, the man they were supposed to assassinate—the man they thought would be easy prey—suddenly disappeared from where he was standing. The only indication of his presence was a flash of crimson light.

RUMBLE!

A powerful wave of crimson lightning suddenly erupted to his left. The arrogant assassin, the one who had chosen to provoke Huang Shi first, currently had blood spurting out of his mouth.

His expression was a mix of confusion and fear as he stared at his chest, where a massive bloody hole had appeared, making him look like a grotesque donut. He then slowly looked up to stare at the person responsible for this tragedy.

"Y-you... I-Impossible... how are you so s-strong?"

Huang Shi didn't respond at first, his golden eyes flashing with icy indifference. Finally, he gave a slight smile—it wasn't a smile that would cause people to gravitate toward him; instead, it was a smile that invoked fear in the hearts of all who laid eyes on it as he replied with a calm tone.

"In this world, a single mistake can cost you your life. When you reincarnate in your next life, remember my words!"

Suddenly, flashing crimson light erupted from the arm embedded in the man's body. The lightning started to travel all around him, rampaging across his form until, after just a few short seconds, his entire body exploded in a mass of blood and gore, painting Huang Shi's azure robes the shade of blood.

The two other assassins' eyes started to tremble. The fear and unease that had already gripped their hearts magnified a thousandfold; they could literally hear their own hearts beating within their chests.

WHEENG!

All of a sudden, the leader of the trio, the cultivator at the 6th level of the Nascent Profound Realm, erupted with a massive amount of spiritual energy.

It shook the surroundings and caused the ground to erupt, but instead of using that energy to attack, he used it to turn his body around at the fastest speed possible. Without any hesitation, he chose to escape!

BOOM!

This split-second decision he had made to run away—to abandon their mission and save his own life—caused his other comrade, who was still stunned at the sight of their companion's sudden death, to be instantaneously eliminated from the face of the earth.

As all of a sudden, a flash of golden flames in the shape of a miniature sword erupted at the edge of his vision before instantly smashing through all of his defenses and ripping apart his throat, leaving behind an injury that would have immediately killed anyone who had not yet started their journey of cultivation.

Unfortunately for him, Huang Shi was no ordinary cultivator. The sword made of pure golden flames began to burn his body from the inside out; the flames consumed him whole, giving him no opportunity to beg for mercy as his entire body was incinerated into ash, the golden flames being the only sign he had ever existed.

The last person remaining—the cultivator at the 6th level of the Nascent Profound Realm—who was currently running at full speed, was only able to cover approximately 50 meters before he heard the sound of air splitting behind him. Suddenly, a flash of crimson appeared at the right side of his vision.

RUMBLE!

Huang Shi instantly appeared at his right, his arm flashing with crimson lightning that glowed with the power of calamity, before instantly clamping down on his head. His fingers left deep dents in the man's skull as he started to scream out in pain.

"AHHHHHHHHH, IT HURTS!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

BOOM!

Huang Shi slammed the man's entire body into the ground with his palm, his face smashing into the concrete below. The bones in his face were crushed at all sorts of different angles as blood poured from his body.

RUMBLE

Before the man could do anything to try and salvage his situation, a flash of crimson lightning appeared at his back. Huang Shi's foot stepped onto his spine, forcing him to halt any movement lest he be instantly paralyzed.

The man, currently bloodied and bruised from the attack and with his entire body shaking from the constant shocks of the crimson lightning, tried to speak up, blood pouring from his lips.

"W-wait… I-I have something to say... d-don't kill me, please…"

Huang Shi stopped his attacks, his crimson lightning flashing with an unspoken threat; clearly, if this person dared to make any sort of unnecessary moves, he would instantly vaporize his body, turning him into pieces of bloodied meat.
