It had nearly slipped my mind. I typed back quickly, already thinking about visiting Jackson and Macy in J City. It had been too long since I had seen either of them, and doing the math in my head, Macy's baby had to be close to two months old already.
My phone was pulled out of my hands before I could finish the thought. I looked up and found Ashton watching me, his dark eyes unreadable. "What's wrong?"
He set the phone out of my reach. "Eat first."
I looked at the food in front of me and felt nothing. "I already ate at Marcus's. I'm really not hungry."
"It doesn't matter. Eat more." He slid a plate of pancakes toward me without waiting for a reply.
I exhaled loud enough to make my feelings clear but did not argue. I picked up a fork and ate without tasting any of it.
