"This isn't horror." I said, trying to convince myself. I get the atmosphere here does feel as if a doll would suddenly come out of nowhere.
But please don't.
I would piss my pants off.
"Office." Office.
Wonder what he has in his office...
A pile of papers on a desk, there were shelves and boxes. there were candles fluttering light in the room. I took one of the files from the desk.
"What's this?"
A scattered writing in most of the papers, says: "Die... Live... Escape." What the. Is he talking about death and life??
"Hell nah."
Makes me want to go home instead.
Seeing these piled up papers and files around the desk to the ground, scattered as if tantrum.
I took more into my hands. There were yet with the same scribble, unexplainable words.
"Did I ever include this scene in the story, though?" I asked myself. Eyebrow raised up while my gaze slowly dozes out from the messy writing.
Back then, I considered writing as my hobby to spend the time than just drawing.
I adore drawing, it had been with me for years.
Yet drawing hands still got me.
"Examination - 06"
Reference, he is six himself.
Does that make sense?
"Hawk." A random word comes out; I giggled at the sound of it. Then proceed to continue the line. "Smash!" I said, throwing a punch at the piled-up books.
As the books came down to the ground, few have survived. "Woah! I'm strong." I said, admiring my fist with delusions.
"I should really stop." I said, my expression instantly switched up as I sat on the chair from the desk.
I sighed in exhaustion as I looked at the big window smeared with the rain falling from outside. It sounds heavy... Wonder when will the sun rises?
I took a quick glance at the standing clock from the corner...Tick~
Tick~ tick
An uneasy feeling came up from my shoulders, tensing them up. Cold and warm hands were not my hands nor someone's hands in the room.
Left with me sitting on the chair from the desk, along as the candle flickers. I didn't seem to notice it well.
My gaze darted to the desk as I took another from the piled files.
They were pictures, drawn pictures from somewhat imaginations. Children were moving in those, happily as the person had walked on the side with them.
Words were written, scribbled. Unfamiliar, as if I was reading an ancient Egypt words written by ancestors.
"Seemed to be the language of the olds." Hell, I've never made a language of my own even knowing the people of Silvistra had different language from ours.
"I'll definitely ask him when I get to face him."
He would definitely be annoyed of me if he ever finds out I was the one behind this all, as an author.
"Gosh... I'm too stupid for this." I said, covering my face with my hands. Even after testing my knowledge many times, it wouldn't get to that point.
Oh, a thought had come up. "What about the discussion we talked?"
Questions... "What about that family and party... Those people?" I added. "And Daniel?"
Technically, Emi is the first to be saved in an apocalypse. She's one hell of a person with the survival instincts of a paper.
"Hmm..." I tested, fidgeting my fingers. Swaying my index finger to the air, trying to make contact.
Every ability from this body is unlocked, like a game. He, himself made it to be seen as an ordinary with no specialties.
"Hmm..." I don't know either.
Cruel.
I stood up, placing back the file to its place before stepping out. Soon after, I'll need to figure them anyways.
If anything, that I remember... He was there for him.
"Liu!!!" He called, opening the door with a basket of fruits in his hand. They laughed, jokingly as they ate.
Even now, perhaps I shall let that go for temporarily.
I sneezed at the dust, that had me to death. My eyes lidded as I walked over.
"Hell... This house must be dusty."
I looked hideous with my eyes lidded, is what I would say to the mirror.
"What's up, pretty boy?" I said, giving a wink at myself as I tried to look impressive as if I'm an idol. An idol in my dreams—a heart hand gesture.
"Eheh~" I was a girl in a shoujo anime! Dressing up as a high-school girl with a guy that's taller than me, helping me up after bumping to each other.
Instead, I'm the guy.
"Thank you!" She said, like a lost princess as she rushed down the hall to her palace. He had a gentle smile, waving at her before walking back. "I'll definitely go visit her." He thought.
Just like Ayato, he would do anything for her. But that's a secret to their love-story!
"Uwa~" I said, my eyes closed as I slept peacefully, remaining with my fast heartbeat in the background.
Hush...
Finally resting my eyes.
There, I saw myself standing on a wet ground, seemingly a water dropping down as I stepped forward.
I, me, myself: I was there, the one who's in me. The one I had considered myself since born.
She was shy, avoiding me from the eye; I looked different than her. I'm a male, not a female. "Mili." I called out, she turned. "Hah?" Sounding confused.
Her face was blurry.
"..."
Blurry vision... I felt like drowning again. A bright light appears upon the distance from my fall, It hurts my eyes. It was night not morning.
"Sir Endrick!" With a simple call, I was there. She was relieved to see me. "Sir Endrick!" She called, again.
She tugged my sleeves over. "Look!" Taking a paper from the table, showing me a drawing of two people holding hands with a sun smiling at the corner.
Flowers from the drawn grass, a small house behind the two people. Those two were definitely us.
Giving a thin smile, her eyes lit up. "You like it?" I nodded. From a single nod, she jumped.
"Sir Endrick likes it!" She gripped it tight to her chest as she jumped in circle.
Pausing, she pointed the tall one from the drawing. "This is sir Endrick..." Then moving her finger. "This is me!" I nodded.
"I can see that." I responded, she giggled as she placed the paper down to the table with a book preventing it from being pulled by the wind.
She sat next to me, muttering. "Sir Endrick..." I glanced at her. "Some of the kids at the party were rude." She said, an awkward smile slowly appeared. "Eh?"
"Why is that?"
"They didn't want me to play with them..." She said, sounding a little upset. "But there was some who wanted to play with you, right?" She nodded.
"They were nice! Maria told me we can be friends..."
I felt my heart skipped a beat-woah, didn't expect her to be included. "Oh, Maria..." I thought.
"That's good to hear. What did you guys do together?" I asked, with obvious curiosity in my tone. I generously smiled.
"We played with her teddy bears, it was so cool!" She answered in excitement. "Oh, other than her...?"
"Other than her?" She figured, silent for a while before shaking her head. "Nope, just her..." She said.
Just her? They haven't met yet? If then, they might meet later. "..." I nodded. "That's okay, as long as you have a friend on your side."
As long as you're not alone in this world, too. Especially her with you, Emi..., a small smile on her face, fidgeting her fingers as a small blush appeared. "I got a friend..." she hesitated.
"You'll definitely gain more friends in the future."
"Really? Hopefully." She said, anxious.
That's one thing I want for her.
Though, Emi is greedy, she's sinful for that. Is one confession I want to say to her face, then her brain blocks it and thought: "That's an admiration because they care enough to gossip about her."
Care enough to even notice her from the crowd and made their day like hell for existing.
"Sir Endrick, can we go outside?" She asked, tugging my shoulder.
"If you want." I responded.
Just that, she jumped off with excitement and immediately went to dress well. "Hooray!!" She cheered.
I smiled, as I took a sip of my cup. The taste of coffee, even if bitter. Still speaks the same as how I've always tasted. Like morning coffee to start off the day and get your energy all hyped up to go to work.
The morning sun sets up from the sky as I looked out, waiting for her. I had myself ready with my overcoat on.
I stood at the dried grass from the ground, the sounds of crumbs as I moved.
"Sir Endrick!" She called, caught me off-guard as she hugged me so suddenly from behind. She took a quick glance at my reaction before pulling me.
"La la~" she said running off along the pathway. For a moment I thought and asked. "Emi, did you remember to close the door?"
"Yep!" She said, confidently.
"..."
If one goes missing from that house, I'm going to execute you. Then again, I won't. I sighed as i walked down the busy street with her.
She had her hand gripped close, looking around the opening stores and bakeries. "Woah..." Completely dazed.
"..."
For a kingdom that seemed poor, they sure are mentally rich for a big amount of cost for one outfit. Luxurious assets...
After getting her some clothes yesterday, have I ever considered to count his money? Definitely didn't—should've counted... What if he ran out of money??
"Maybe some hell punishment for that..." I thought.
"No, maybe become poor for eternally as a punishment... Or worse yet."
"Get killed in every regressions."
My face turned to horror as I imagined all the endings and punishments from that cause. Technically, they're more worse than being in a room full of man!!
Gee... Trembling from knee to toe, I would die brutally at this rate.
Perhaps more brutal than getting drowned nor cancer from the head. Shiver me timbers.
"Sir Endrick, look!"
"What is it—" I turned to see two people from the center, shouting as the people around them continued to walk pass, unbothered.
"Come, come! Balloons and treats for 3 cents!" with cheerful smiles.
She looked up at me, pouting. "Please...?" i froze.
For a moment of silence, she continued to look at me with those eyes. Those eyes that would attract to slap her for somewhat reason.
Sighing. "... Sure." I hesitated.
She smiled. "Yay!" running up to them. From up-close, they were selling with magic tricks instead of serving it regularly
"Wow!!" She was in awe from their magic trick and clapped.
All fun and sunshine from the eyes of a naive and oblivious kid. Lately, she has been quite close towards me after I had invited her to come with to the party last night...
But I couldn't say much, she's a very easy person to pick on. With even an effortless act, they would earn her trust.
She's full of complaints, then proceed to sincerely endure it as her head blocks away the shadows behind her.
"She's that delight of everything around her?" This is as if I'm talking bad about someone, when it is just me after all.
"I've changed."
