"I know you're lurking there. Why don't you make your move already?" William spoke calmly.
The night remained silent.
He ate the last meat off the stick. Then he tossed it.
A shadow dozed it and appeared before him wearing a black cassock. He also wore a mask.
William stood up and began to stretch his body.
The shadow tried to sheath his longsword. But William was faster as he appeared and pulled back the sword.
The assassin kicked. William stepped aside and began dodging the kicks and punches while keeping close to him. He didn't even let the opponent to draw his swords or used other hidden weapons.
The assassin felt so frustrated that he yelled and punched using a skill. "Golden fist!" he shouted.
Suddenly, Qi gathered around his fist turning them all golden.
William felt a terrifying power from that punch. So he dodged stepping back and keeping a distance.
And he was right.
If I didn't dodge that fist then it would cause a heavy damage to my body, he wondered.
Martial technique-wise, he knew it was like fooling with a kid. But using Qi attack it was another matter.
I must be careful and take this serious.
The assassin rushed toward him with his both fists covering with golden Qi. He was now holding the upper hand and he knew it. So, he charged forward trying to finish his job nice and clean.
This time, he didn't use any flashy fighting styles. He knew his inferiority in that field.
William felt the pressure building up around him and he liked it. As an ultimate assassin in the previous life, he liked such situation of being pressure.
Nice! Entertain me more, he thought.
He kept dodging while the other was looking for a chance to deal a heavy blow.
Sadly, even after a few minute the man in cassock failed to deliver even a single strike. Forget strike, he failed to even touch him.
William lost his interest, clicked his tongue and said, "So, that's all. I've seen martial artists use better skills than this. For you, it even fail to hold a candle for them. So, let's end this here."
William dashed forward. His speed faster and landing a square kick over his tummy. He leaped forward and punched at the man's chest. Breaking sounds of broken ribs and bones were heard and killed the man rupturing the heart inside.
William cleaned the blood from his hand and said, "Enjoying much."
"Yap, brother. You're the best fighter I've ever witness. I want to see your fierce side when you were able to use the Qi." Silver said and walked forward.
"Use the Qi? That's the exact reason we are going in this journey. Now, throw this body somewhere and clean this place before others notice of this." William ordered.
Silver nodded and quickly vanished after picking up the body.
He looked up at the night sky and his mind wondered to his previous life in the otherworld.
Not long after Silver was there sitting beside him.
"Do you find anything?" she asked.
"Nah," he added with a sigh. "It doesn't even matter anymore. The assassin was sent by one of the prince."
Silver was all anxious and said, "Why don't we go back to palace and end this matter once for all? I'll do all the hard works."
"Patience. Patience girl. You need to learn to develop your patience from this. It's not the time to go all berserk. Plus, it seems just to test the water. They didn't have any intention to kill me yet." William explained.
Silver agreed as the person sent was not a pro. If the person behind it want to take the Seventh Prince then they would sent their with a foolproof plan not this obvious strike in the front.
After looking at the stars for hours both entered the tent and shut their eyes to sleep.
Next morning, the sound of birds woke them up.
The driver called out, "Your Highness, it's the time. Everything is all set to leave and if nothing happen en route then I promise we can enter Hornbill Kingdom and reach the Daffodil Valley by dusk."
William nodded. Then the group finished their daily morning routines and their journey continued with the chariot driving at its best speed.
Hours later, multiple silhouettes wearing black cassocks and black masks appeared around the place where the tent was set up.
"Number 345 failed to finish his jobs. What a let down." An elderly voice chimed. "At least we know from the aura remnant of the fight, Prince Seventh William still was not able to use his Qi yet. That's a good news. Number 90, sent the information to the lord."
"Yes sir," a man responded and he quickly disappeared.
Suddenly they all felt a dreadful aura. They all glanced upward and saw a large white crane floating just above them. A lady wearing all white and an old man wearing similar attire were watching them while laying on the back of the swan.
"Who are you?" the leader of the assassin group spoke out. "Leave this place immediately. We have no business with you."
The lady on the white swan snatch the wine pouch from the old man and took a sip.
"Stupid girl, I told you never touch my wine."
The lady winched and said, "Too spicy and too bitter. Yikes! Just take it," she tossed it back.
She turned and said, "I beg to differ. Since you dare to ambush my little brother. How can I the big sister stay lazying around with this old fart."
The group of assassins failed to grasp her words.
"Yes, I'm the older sister of William. It's not even a year and my poor brother was already facing the third attempt in his life. The second time, he almost lost his life if not for that Silver Brat. I just heard the news and came back passing through oceans and continents. Now, enough with the introduction. You all get ready to meet your makers." Saying that, she jumped down from that height.
