Liam Linden turned his head and shot her a cold glance.
Faye Vaughn, however, let her eyes curve into crescents, revealing a syrupy-sweet smile.
Liam Linden flinched as if burned by her smile and quickly averted his gaze.
"Shut up. Don't distract me while I'm driving," Liam Linden snapped, then fell silent.
Faye Vaughn just gave a slight shrug and nonchalantly continued to fish out snacks from her backpack.
Liam Linden forced himself to focus on driving, but he couldn't help but be drawn to the sounds she was making.
'Is she eating jelly?'
'Is she hungry?'
After finishing the jelly, she started eating small, round cookies.
"You..." Liam Linden started, but he held his tongue, ultimately unable to voice his concern.
'Keeping her trapped by his side was already the height of selfishness.'
'How could he dare hope for more?'
"What is it?" Faye Vaughn tilted her head to look at him. "If you have something to say, just say it. Don't mumble."
'Are you hungry?'
