[IRIS POV]
"...Help…" I choked out weakly, my vision blurring further with every second I stood. My lungs refused to cooperate; with every breath that I took, I was left feeling more lightheaded than before. Caius placed his hands on my shoulders, roughly shaking me. His hands felt like heated chains, branding my skin.
I let out a soft hiss of pain. I was seeing stars. Was I even standing? The ground seemed to be shifting underneath my feet.
Suddenly, Caius yanked his hands away, leaving me feeling strangely bereft. All I wanted was to worm back into his embrace. Him not touching me was more torturous than him shaking me so hard that my vision spun.
Suddenly, the floor looked perilously close to my face.
"Fuck, you can't even stand now?" Caius grabbed my wrist before my body could kiss the floor. His eyes darkened as he caught sight of my flushed face and hazy eyes. "What's wrong with you? Did those men feed you something?"
