Luna's gaze lingered on the weapon that had caused everything. The threat hung in the room, heavy in the air. She struggled to breathe, her eyes softened at the mention of her aunt, and Luna found it hard to speak further.
She saw the King place the dagger on the table with a wide smile on his face, as if pleased that she'd gone silent.
Draven smiled, his eyes still on Luna. She noticed how she clutched the hem of her gown in worry and anxiety as she stared at the dagger on the table.
Now that his words were clear, he turned to look at the knight standing a step closer to the door. He waved the man forward in a come-hither motion before saying, "Take the lady to the guest wing on the third floor."
Luna would have defied him, but looking at her dagger on the table and the King who had threatened to do more harm to Aunt Marion and Belle, she decided against it. Instead, she looked at the King, who had never lost his smile.
