Teruhashi had nightmares in the little sleep she got.
The scenes of murder constantly repeated in her sleep, and the souls she had sealed in herself for increasing her pathetic amount of Cursed Energy wasn't entirely good.
Memories of those souls, alongside the memories of their past lives, were now leaking into her alongside the Cursed Energy.
Tachibana hadn't considered one drawback of his Cursed Technique. A normal Reincarnation leads to loss of memories, with only deep personality traits being passed down. But, his Cursed Technique preserves the full memories.
With [Reversion]'s Maximum, New Soul, while the souls were restored into their newborn states, their egos reduced to nothing, the memories of all their lives were regained by them. And the panic, fear and negativity in general of the souls just before they were effectively 'killed' lead to big boost in Cursed Energy, with greater return than a death Binding Vow due to experiencing multiple deaths forced upon them.
Teruhashi obviously didn't understand anything aside the fact that the memories of the people whose souls are now sealed in her are leaking into her. Memories of life as single cell organism, dinosaur, tree, monkey, prehistoric humans, king, slave, farmer, war casualty, etc. were slowly becoming hers as the Cursed Energy from the seal leaked into her.
She didn't plan on telling Tachibana about this and uselessly worry him, at least until things have calmed down a bit and she has increased her Cursed Energy reserves to an acceptable level.
Tachibana stared at the opponent in front of them cautiously. Though the WW2 veteran has way less Cursed Energy than them, he seems very experienced. And who knows what his Cursed Technique is.
Hoshikage grinned at these newbies, especially at the pretty girl who is wearing strange clothes, cosplay of Minato according to the memories of his vessel.
Teruhashi threw knives at him one after another, and Hoshikage simply dodged them.
"Heh. Amateur."
He mocked her and used his Cursed Technique, [Gun].
[Gun] allows him to manifest any form of gun, enhanced with Cursed Energy and with endless bullets as long as he has Cursed Energy.
During WW2, he massacred many villages across Asia for fun without having to worry about wasting bullets.
And now that he has memories of the vessel, he has learnt about advanced weapons. So he manifested a machine gun to get rid of the guy.
Just as he aimed his gun at the guy, the girl disappeared from his sight.
"Huh?"
And the next moment he knew, his head got sliced off cleanly from behind.
Using the Flying Thunder God mark on a knife behind him, she teleported behind him and sliced his head off cleanly.
["5 points acquired!"]
Teruhashi received her first 5 points.
She herself was surprised by how swift she had been.
But as the adrenaline started dying down, she stared at the blood that stained her clothes.
"Ughhhhhh... Uwaah!"
"Are you alright!?"
She started puking at the scene as Tachibana rushed to her.
The effects of her Cursed Technique [Cosplay] turned off, due to her cosplay being ruined by blood.
While incredibly powerful, it seems that just getting her cosplay ruined deactivates the technique.
And as her Cursed Technique no longer recognised her Minato cosplay, the 8 Trigrams Seal lost its effect.
Instead of the Cursed Energy seeping into her body slowly so that it gets used to it, and keeping the souls separate from her being, without the seal, everything came crashing into her all at once.
She lost consciousness and collapsed, and then, Tachibana sensed someone powerful approaching.
"What is her Cursed Technique? How did she suddenly appear behind him?"
An incarnated sorcerer came out of the shadows of a tree.
'Shadow!?'
Judging by his formal speech despite having the Cursed Technique related to Shadows, it's most likely that he is an incarnated sorcerer.
Tachibana's guess was absolutely correct.
"Heh. I guess modern sorcerers aren't so bad huh. You almost have as much Cursed Energy as that Michizane when he was human. Stop worrying about that woman, and entertain me for a bit."
The sorcerer in front of him was Taira Takamochi, the ancestor of the Zenin clan.
