Leon's Pov
The warehouse district was nearly empty by the time we got there.
Most of the buildings on that side of the city had been abandoned years ago or turned into temporary storage spaces nobody cared enough to monitor properly anymore. At night, the entire place felt disconnected from the rest of Lagos, like a forgotten section of the city people only remembered existed when they needed somewhere for things to happen quietly.
Marvin slowed the car near the entrance of the street.
"You want me to stay with the vehicle?" he asked.
"Yes."
"You think it's safe for you to go in alone?"
I looked out the window toward the building Rico sent.
"No," I answered honestly. "But I think that's the point."
I stepped out before he could say anything else.
