Chapter 9 - Going To The Miracles Residency.

Three days had gone by since Fionn's and Kiara's last encounter. And for those three days, Fionn's mind was filled with nothing else but Kiara.

It was something that he tried to control but completely failed. He really wanted to meet her. It was so severe that he slacked at all his other duties and stayed home all day and night in anticipation that she would show up.

But to his disappointment, she never showed up, which made the wait even more unbearable. Had she given up on her house? He wondored.

That morning, just like the past three days, Fionn stayed home. Without so much to do, he did what was now his daily schedule as though he were in a loop.

Wake up, take a shower, have breakfast, then sit and scroll through news feeds all day.

Fionn sat on a couch in the living room as he lazily scrolled through his phone.

The laptop, which displayed the marriage contract from earlier, lay on the coffee table just in front of him. Messages popped up on it, but he didn't spare any attention.

He remained busy on his phone, doing nothing but scrolling through a news feed.

[Fionn Clarkson on the Brink of Ouster as CEO: Are Any of His Brothers Prepared to Take Over?]

"Tsk." He scoffed at the article.

Completely disgusted, he put down the phone and shifted his attention to the laptop.

Looking at the marriage contract, "I'm bound to lose everything." He said with a scoff.

After a pause, he got his phone and dialed; the call was answered immediately.

"Sir, it's good you called." A panicked voice came from the other side of the phone.

With a smile at the other person's panic, Fionn sat back, resting his head on the couch's headrest. He didn't say anything, he just listened.

"It's the board of directors and the stakeholders, they are on my neck, they want to know where you are? Sir, please, for the sake of my sorry life, you have to show up. I'm...."

"Aren't they the very ones who gave me three months to find a wife?" Fionn interrupted. "Just tell them I'm busy doing that."

"But sir, they won't listen to me... What should I do?"

"Just don't mind them, after all, who is your boss? Them or me?"

"It's you, sir." The man replied in a calm voice.

"Good, then you have to do what I tell you to do."

Still on the call, Fionn opened the Gmail app on the laptop and sent the marriage contract, probably to the person he was talking to.

"Print that out, and get ready, we have somewhere to go."

Without waiting for any other response, Fionn disconnected the call. But just after the call was disconnected, before even Fionn could put the phone back on the table, another call came.

Fionn didn't expect to get a call, so he checked the caller id with anticipation. His eyes lit up with excitement when he saw who was calling.

Without hesitation, he answered immediately. "Tell me you have good news for me," Fionn said impatiently.

"The big sister isn't around, and the parents have just left."

"Great job," Fionn said. "You did well," he continued, then a wide grin appeared on his face.

This was what Fionn was waiting for. In order to meet Kiara, he had gone an extra mile by hiring someone to stalk her movements.

However, it happened that for the last three days, Kiara never left home. So there was no way the two could meet away from her home.

What was left was him meeting her at the Miracle residency. One thing he loathed was meeting Kiara's father, but now that she was home alone, that was the perfect chance he had. He had to use it.

"Anything more for me, sir?" The man asked, but Fionn didn't answer as he was lost in his joyous thoughts.

"Sir, are you still there?"

"Yeah...Yeah. yeah.." Fionn murmured.

"Keep around, if anything comes up, be sure to inform me." He said, then disconnected the call.

Without wasting anymore time, he called his assistant from earlier. "Stop whatever you are doing and come to my place. We have to move now."

Fionn immediately disconnected the call. With swift movements, he got off the couch and walked straight to his bedroom.

Wasting even a single second at that crucial moment would be fatal, so he didn't want to lose any. He walked straight to the bathroom for a quick bath.

Coming out a while later, he made his way to the closet. There he stood, stuck and indecisive about what to wear.

He had to choose the best outfit because he was going to meet his to-be wife, oh, so he told himself. But the truth was far from that; Fionn was only driven by the desire to impress Kiara.

The desire to flash out his coolness to her. But this was something that even Fionn himself didn't know. To be precise, he had already fallen in love with her.

And every time he wanted to meet her, he attributed that to the fact that he wanted her for a wife. Yet all was love at play. He only missed her.

Even though he desired not to waste any time, Fionn found himself stuck and torn between choosing from the different outfits.

He picked up a long-sleeved t-shirt. "This will do."

He immediately put it back. "No, it won't." He sighed.

"Oh God, this is going nowhere."

It took him so long that it was enough for his assistant to make it to his apartment before Fionn could choose an outfit.

He only got back to reality with the ringing of his phone. Picking it up, "hello," he said.

"Sir, I'm just outside. Should I come up there?"

"Oh yeah, come help me choose an outfit. I can't really get it." Fionn huffed. "I wonder why it's so hard for me all of a sudden."

A few minutes later, his assistant showed up. He walked to Fionn's room, where he found him lying on the bed, his eyes fixed on the ceiling.

"What's the occasion?" The assistant asked.

Without sparing him a glance, Fionn replied nonchalantly. "I'm going to meet my wife."

The assistant, Kim, walked to the closet and looked through then turned to his boss.

"Formal or casual?"

"I'd rather be casual," Fionn replied.

"Alright, leave it to me."

Kim chose a plain long-sleeved grey tee and a light blue denim jacket for the top. For the bottom, he picked up straight olive chino pants and suede loafers for the footwear.

To complete the outfit, he added a watch.

"Now let's go meet your wife." He said with pride.
