Chapter 29 - Drinking Until Getting Wasted.

It didn't take them long to get to the club, with clear directions from Samuel, it was a piece of cake to get there. It was a well-established place, with a vast parking lot. Being a busy place, with more cars pulling up than they left, they would have missed out on a parking spot if there had been a delay for even a single minute.

Looking at the queue, it seemed like they would wait until they were grey-haired to finally get into the club. To brighten the chances of getting in, Kiara pulled the already irritated girl to the queue before more people joined in.

Minutes passed, and they were still not even halfway to the entrance. "You said there wouldn't be many people." Kayla leaned in and whispered, already fed up.

How would Kiara have known, in the first place, she said it only to persuade her sister to tag along with her. She herself was also already fed up. She gave a deep sigh and whispered back. "I didn't think the queue would be this long."

Kiara thought of a way to end it all. Pull out and go back home? Force their way to the entrance? Call Samuel and tell him they were stuck in the queue. How had she not thought of the last option?

Getting her phone, she called Samuel. The call was answered on the second ring. "We are out here, but the queue is taking us forever to get in." She said and immediately disconnected the call.

Samuel came out of the club a few minutes later, his eyes searching until he spotted the two girls somewhere in the middle of the queue.

"I guess it's you, Kiara wasn't lying. You are such a beauty." Samuel smiled at Kayla, but the girl remained emotionless, her face unreadable, not even acknowledging Samuel's compliment. The man's smile vanished slowly.

"Oh, what I forgot to tell you, she's a robot in human flesh," Kaira said just to lift the man's spirit. Samuel managed a chuckle after all.

"Now, if you are, get us out of here before she starts throwing tantrums." Kiara continued slapping the back of the man's head.

Samuel led them to and through the entrance like he actually owned the place, the bouncers even bowing at them. The people in the queue didn't even complain.

As they moved through the ordinary section, the blend of sweat and alcohol engulfed their noses. The loud music threatening to burst their eardrums.

So disgusting. How do people even survive in here. Kayla thought to herself.

At the end of the dance floor, just next to the DJ's booth, they came to a staircase that led to the VIP section.

The VIP was a stack contrast to the ordinary section. Fitted with sound proof glass. No smell of of sweat, the only smell a blend of expensive cologne.

He led them to a booth at the end of the hallway just next to an office. Judging by the door tag, Kiara concluded it was the office to the owner of the club.

As they settled on the round couch, the door opened and joining them was a man who looked acquited with Samuel. "Hi Ladies." He greeted.

Kiara returned the gesture but not Kayla. She stared at him without flinching, no smile not even a blink, just stared. He played cool and took a seat next to Samuel.

"Brook meet my bestfriend Kiara and her sister," Samuel said before turning to Kiara. "Brook. My Bestfriend with whom I own this club."

No wonder they'd gotten in with unlaboured ease.

This guy owned a club and I knew nothing about it. Is this the surprise. Kiara thought to herself. "Should I expect more, or this is it?" She asked with a sharp gaze.

"I didn't think it mattered," Samuel said nonchalantly. Anyway, Kiara didn't mind, she turned to Brook extending her hand for a handshake. "Nice meeting you." They said in unison.

Brook looked smitten, not with Kiara but her sister. Even with Kayla's personality, she didn't go unnoticed. Her beauty did the shouting. Brook stared at her, but Kayla remained unbothered, arms crossed not labouring even to say a word or at least a gesture to the expectant guy.

"Please don't mind her, she's always uncomfortable around strangers," Kiara said feeling sorry for the guy. Brook nodded with a smile as he excused himself from the room.

"Guess what?" Samuel said. "Tonight's surprise. Can you guess?"

"I can't."

"Come on."

Kiara hated the guessing game but Samuel insisted, so she had to do it. "Let me guess, you got into a relationship?"

Samuel chuckled disappointedly. This man had shown Kiara enough signs that he liked her. In fact he had once confessed his love for her, but here she was breaking his heart with asking such a question.

It's true, Kiara loved Samuel and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him but not as a person she shared a bed with. He was a man she wouldn't want to let go, and yet didn't have romantic feelings for.

"Is that the best you could think of?" He asked. Kiara didn't answer, she had nothing to say knowing her question had hurt him.

"Anyway, I quit at Edwards. But that's not all, I got myself a partnership with the famous Thomas." He continued, his smile returning. Kiara remained blank, she didn't know which Thomas he was talking about.

"You mean Thomas Clarkson?" Kayla broke her silence.

"Exactly."

"How do you know him?" Kiara questioned with curiosity.

"I don't really know him, it's just that Ethan was telling me about his brothers earlier."

Brook returned with two servers, each carrying a variety of expensive liquor bottles and glasses. "It's time to celebrate my brother, all on me." He said.

The drinks were served each of them helping themselves to a glass, holding them up for a toast. Before Kiara could take a sip off her glass, she remembered she weren't supposed to drink.

She put it down. "Sorry I'm not supposed to drink." She said.

"Why?" All eyes on her.

Wait, so I'm supposed to explain myself. What should I tell them? I'll just take this one glass if that's it. After all, drinking, not drinking it won't increase my life span.

She took the glass and emptied it down her throat.

The celebration soon turned into something else, a liquor tolerance competition. Minutes later, everyone was wasted. Kiara forgot about the one glass; determined to win the competition, she continued drinking even in her wasted state.

"I need to use the chores," Kayla grumbled in her drunken state. Kiara fought, tried hard to move and support her sister, but completely failed.

Fortunately, Kayla managed to get off the couch and found her way out of the room. Kiara didn't know what happened next; she only continued trying to get the last bottle to her mouth.
