Ethan pulled a seat for Kayla, the one just next to him. With a thank you nod, she occupied it while Maeve walked to where Tom was seated. She softly slapped the back of his head and whispered something to him, which sent the two chuckling.
After that, Maeve walked to her mother, wrapped her hands around her, and placed a simple peck on her cheek. "Good morning, Mum." She greeted.
Deborah brushed her daughter's cheek and then replied. "Good morning, sweetie."
Maeve moved away and occupied the seat just next to her mother. She served herself food and started eating.
"So tell, how is Emily doing. That stubborn girl hasn't labored to pay me a visit in a long time. Anyway, not that she's to blame. It's all my fault."
"Mom is doing fine." Kayla replied softly.
"Oh. I'd forgotten." Deborah said as she made her seat vacant. "Ethan told me you had a lot last night."
