Ruo Feng paused for a moment, then fixed his gaze on the corpse before him.
There was no doubt—the body wasn't an ordinary person. Though it bore marks of being torn by some ferocious beast, the heart had been pierced by a massive sword. Clearly, this person had been killed by someone else. Judging by the clothing, they had been a cultivator. After all, in the Swallowed StarEarth, two cultivation systems existed: the Martialists and the Spiritual Mind Masters.
If either system were transplanted to the Naruto world, it would be extraordinary.
Ruo Feng narrowed his eyes and studied the corpse, feeling no disgust. He picked up a nearby backpack. Strange—why hadn't the killer taken it? But this worked to Ruo Feng's advantage.
Opening the dirty backpack, he examined the contents: a notebook, a black egg, and some food.
Flipping through the notebook, he realized it was a diary.
April 1st: Continuous rain forced me to hide. The golden feral beasts still rampage.
April 2nd: No hope left. Is the Earth really going to be destroyed?
April 3rd: He appeared—Luo Feng. He perished alongside the beasts.
April 4th: The departure of idol Luo Feng leaves me with awe. I will walk the path he once walked.
April 5th: We discovered a Beast-General-level monster about to give birth. Our small team plans a sneak attack.
Ruo Feng's eyes lingered on the diary and then on the black egg.
"No way… this is a Beast-General-level monster egg!"
Though the diary didn't explicitly mention it, the egg in the backpack could very well be the one about to be laid by the Beast-General-level creature.
A twitch formed on Ruo Feng's lips as he calculated silently. In Swallowed Star, monsters were categorized: Beast Soldier, Beast General, Lord, and King.
He didn't know how strong a Beast-General-level monster truly was, but it should surpass a normal Naruto-world summoning beast. Perhaps a Lord-level one could rival a future Tailed Beast.
Ruo Feng studied the egg. "The Naruto world and Swallowed Star differ—at least in the energy contained. If this Beast-General egg hatches, who knows how powerful it will grow? And whether it can even hatch now is another question."
He muttered to himself, then glanced back at the diary.
The diary contained nothing but daily entries. Yet, in the final pages, Ruo Feng was overjoyed: the deceased had created a method of meditation.
This person had dreamed of becoming a Spiritual Mind Master but lacked the innate talent. Yet a dream creates drive. They researched ways to enhance their spiritual energy, even sneaking instruction from true Mind Masters, eventually developing this foundational method of meditation—and it worked.
Ruo Feng read the notes detailing the creator's process:
"To strengthen spiritual energy, the mind must remain calm."
"Today, I stole another lesson. To enhance spiritual energy beyond natural talent or genius materials, one must continually use it!"
"Impossible… how do I properly use spiritual energy?"
"Hah… today, another stolen lesson: concentration alone can gradually strengthen spiritual energy."
Countless entries and experiments led this deceased person to create the meditation technique.
Ruo Feng studied it carefully. "Using a crystal as the object of visualization, one focuses the mind, tracing and shaping the imagined form within the crystal. Through repeated practice, spiritual energy can be enhanced, and control over it improves."
He glanced at the pile of garbage beside the corpse. Among it, a small crystal gleamed.
Flawless, as if born of heaven and earth, this was the crystal for meditation. The method slowly enhances spiritual energy—not fast, but steady and stable.
Ruo Feng narrowed his eyes. "It's similar to ancient Zen meditation. I didn't expect it could be so effective. In the Naruto world, techniques to train spiritual energy hardly exist. Maybe some mountain clans have secret methods, but this crystal meditation is undoubtedly valuable."
His gaze swept the massive pile of garbage, searching for anything else of worth.
Soon, he shook his head. "Only the corpse's belongings are valuable. The rest is just trash. Compared to the Doupo world garbage, this is nothing. Wood and stone from Doupo grew in energy-rich worlds; the iron and plastic here are just urban waste—and some may carry the RR virus."
With a sigh, Ruo Feng considered the situation. "I'll need to go into the Summoning Space. The so-called Dog Sage resides there, but I have no choice. The Garbage Station's collection needs a proper dumping ground."
Muttering to himself, he turned and began returning, carrying the diary, the crystal, the massive sword, and the monster egg.
